Here is latest NBA Rookie Ladder: https://www.nba.com/rookie-ladder
Top 5 are:
1. Ja Morant
2. Culver
3. Sekou
4. PJ Washington
5. Darius Garland
Wow, Culver is starting to get some respect now and I love it. My notes: Before the draft, Sekou was the guy I targeted at 11, Fearing he might not last until 11, my backup plan was PJ Washington. I'm happy to see them both doing well. Since I had no idea we would be drafting 6th, I didn't factor Culver into the equation as he was expected to be long gone. But when we traded up to 6, I was happy we got Culver instead of Garland or Coby White or Cam Redish.

Question do they just go off how they played the previous week in these. I think Culver has been great recently but it would be hard for me to put him ahead of Barrett, Nunn or Herro at this time
Re: Rookie Watch
Kek, I believe its a seasonal ranking, but there has been lots of fluidity in the rankings this year as I think each of the guys you mentioned has been in and out of the rankings. Ja Morant seems to be a constant as the top guy and there is quite a bit of parity after that. Nunn was hot early, but has faded a bit. Herro is a bench scorer with a decent outside shot (38.5%), but hasn't stood out otherwise. Barrett is a high usage, scorer, but he's been very inefficient. One guy not mentioned is Jaxson Hayes and he looked phenomenal yesterday (he's shooting 65% on year with a lot of blocks and shot alterations) and given Favors's injury history he may be taking over in New Orleans: He reminded me a bit of Gobert, but less physicality and more athleticism. Michael Porter Jr is also technically a rookie and with playing time, he might just show up on the list. Brandon Clarke, Rui Hachimiri, Matisse Thybulle are having good years too. Terence Davis is another undrafted potential gem for Toronto who looked good when he got big minutes. Pretty deep rookie class.

It's a weekly ranking.
There's no outlet that is reasonably putting Sekou or Culver ahead of a guy like Brandon Clarke for the season.
Sekou: 5.8 ppg / 2.8 reb / 46.6% fg
Clarke: 12.3 ppg / 5.7 reb / 63.5%
Re: Rookie Watch
I don't think it states whether it is weekly or seasonal, but I get Abe's point (that it is either weekly or weighted towards recent results). I found this rankings which is definitely seasonal and it has a top 3 of Morant, Brandon Clarke and PJ with Culver quite a bit lower. https://hashtagbasketball.com/nba-rookie-rankings

I still would. I easily could be wrong but usually PGs take longer to develop. Also still don't know if you can be a plus player in today's NBA if you can't shoot consistently and I worry about that with Culver still

Yeah, Garland seems to have all the right ingredients offensively to eventually be a really good scoring PG. The funny thing is if you build a team around KAT and a player like Garland, suddenly a sticky wing defender like Culver becomes more valuable. I guess Okogie could still provide that.
Re: Rookie Watch
A core of KAT plus Garland or Culver won't get us any closer to the playoffs during KAT's contract. Culver still has so far to go to make it worthwhile to have him out there regularly. He's redundant with Okogie in too many ways for us to have both of them developing on the floor while we lose.

I would do it in a heartbeat - even though I've been impressed by Culver lately and think he'll eventually be better than I thought he'd be coming out of college. When comparing the two, remember that Culver had two years of college while Garland had only about one week. I think Garland has the higher upside. But he also has the right skill for this team as a ball-handling PG and 3-point shooter. We already have a defensive stopper at the wing in Okogie. In that sense, Culver is a bit redundant - another reason I didn't understand the Wolves decision to trade up for him.
