LaMello Ball
LaMello Ball
I broke down and subscribed to NBA League Pass tonight. I'm going to kick off my new subscription by watching the Hornets play the Mavs. I'll be able to see LaMello for an entire game and won't be limited to the selective highlights that the networks like to show. I'll give my report later tonight or tomorrow.

I'm interested in what you think of him, Lip, but I honestly don't see you changing your pre-draft opinion of him unless he plays out of his mind. I've watched him this season twice and felt like he was the same player he was overseas.

Sounds good Lip, looking forward to it as well. I'm watching the Bucks trying to sweep the Heat.
Re: LaMello Ball
LaMello just came into the game. He's played for about a minute with no touches yet. They don't have him bringing the ball up the court or running the offense. So far, I'm impressed by PJ Washington and Miles Bridges. PJ's a really good all-around player. Miles Bridges is a really active, high energy athletic player with a nose for the ball. I'm thinking about how we could have drafted PJ at #11 last year and then used Saric as an asset in another deal. But alas.
Re: LaMello Ball
Luka is such a jackass. I can't believe he doesn't get more technicals. No Timberwolves player would get away with how Luka jaws at the refs.
Based on what I've seen of Miles Bridges so far tonight confirms my view that we should have swapped picks with the Hornets in exchange for Miles and the Hornets #32 pick.

Not watching, but I'm already scoreboard watching...I'm naive enough to be thinking KAT will return and we can be a playoff team, so we need West teams to lose games like this. LaMelo has actually turned things around and their reserves have made their first 8 shots, including 4 threes!
Re: LaMello Ball
LaMello is actually looking pretty good. He's playing under control. I like the way he crashes the boards. And he's made some nice based passes along with a nice no-look. Still nothing that I'd call special, but solid.
As I watch James Johnson, it reminds me that we'd be much better off with him than with Ricky. Not that he's better that Ricky. But for our roster, James Johnson would provide more value on the court, especially now with KAT out. And he's on an expiring contract.

This Hornets team is pretty good. They have at least four guys I'd like to have on our team: PJ Washington, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges and Devonte Graham. I also like Caleb Martin. Wouldn't mind Hayward either, but I don't like his contract.
Re: LaMello Ball
I like LaMello the more I watch him. He has a nice nose for the ball and really rebounds. And he's a terrific ballhandler with a good feel for the game based on what I've seen in this game so far.
Re: LaMello Ball
Big difference between Edwards and Ball is in the paint. Edwards is much faster and a lot strong, which enables him to finish shots in the paint in traffic. LaMello Ball gets crushed every time he tries to score in the paint. He can't blow by anyone and is to weak physically to finish even with only one defender getting physical with him under the basket.
