I'm fucking annoyed. Minnesota started two bigs last game. They finally strayed from the absurdity that is their four-guard starting lineup. This team is just better when there are two bigs on the floor. Two bigs started last game when Rubio was thrown into the starting lineup. We barely saw Okogie play much and I think the team was better off. How does the thought process change for Saunders now that Russell is back as a starter? That makes zero sense to me or any other competent follower of the team. What does Okogie provide that Vanderbilt or McDaniels don't? Absolutely nothing. I can't wait to hear Saunders stammer after the game about why he went back to this five despite all logic saying otherwise. Stupid.

Also, I don't care if the gameplan is to have Josh Okogie defend Luka Doncic. All that ensures is that the Mavericks will be able to play 5-on-4 on the other end of the floor because Okogie can't throw a pea into the ocean right now. My preferred alternative would be to start Anthony Edwards or Jaden McDaniels on Doncic and see if the added size/length will bother him while also having a skilled offensive player on the other end.

Okogie is a little quicker maybe to match up with Luka??? BUT he is a black hole on offense. Send him to the G league so maybe he can start gaining confidence. But I doubt that would even work. He's just terrible on offense.

I wouldn't mind seeing what McDaniels could do on Luka, but maybe he's not ready.
