Kat doubtful on Wed

Post by kekgeek »

The soft tank is on. They mark it as Health protocols. Even though Ryan said he is out of those. He has practiced all week. They said they are making sure his lungs are good to go and I'm cool with that but you can't convince me other wise if the Wolves were better Kat would be playing now.

I refuse to believe they are tanking. It just doesn't make any sense

The more they don't play with Kat. The more excuse Rosas and Saunders have not to be fired. If they can get a top 3 pick this year Rosas can go all in. If they don't get a top 3 pick no way to really improve this team meaning he will get fired at the end of next year

The way you get fired is by trading away your draft picks and still finishing in the bottom 3.

Correct if Dlo and Kat play together. He still gets time as long as those don't play together

Kecker! Rosas is the one who decided to build around those 2. If they can't get on the court together he looks even worse.

Tanking makes no sense in light of the fact that the Wolves traded away their 2021 1st and 2nd round picks, with only top 3 protection on the 1st-round pick. We don't know how sick KAT has been, but we know that this disease can have long-lasting health effects on the lungs and the heart. In fact, studies have shows that 67% of a people who have tested positive but have no symptoms show lung changes CT scans after they're no longer test positive. A German study found that 60% of those who had Covid but with mild or no symptoms had inflammation surrounding their hearts. These things probably resolve over time, but it make perfect sense that KAT would be out as long as he's been out given what we know about the residual effects of got his disease and the exertion level involved in playing basketball.

I have no doubt KAT will be back healthy because the vast majority of healthy people his age ultimately make a full recovery. But it's ridiculous to conclude that KAT is now being kept out as part of a tank strategy.

Lip, what you say is true about the impact of folks with Covid, HOWEVER, Abe posted in another thread other players that have had it and how long they have been out. KAT by far is being held out the longest. Judging by how he's looked on the sidelines these past couple of games and the fact he's been back practicing, I just don't believe he has long-lasting effects. Why can't they play him on a minutes restriction and see how things go?

I truly believe it's a soft tank strategy.

Q, don't forget KAT also had the wrist ailment that clearly wasn't healed at the time he contracted Covid. Not sure if that could still be at play here. What do you think the goal of the soft tank strategy would be? I just can't see it.
