KAT TRADE IDEAS

Post by ALLDAYCHRIS [enjin:19712952] »

Lets face it. This Team is going nowhere the way It's currently constructed. Also to top it off our pick is only top 3 protected this year. The more I look at it, the more I think our best route going forward would be to call the warriors about trading KAT and playing the long game again.

My best ideal offer would be to get Wiseman, our first back and salary filler for Kat.

That would set the warriors back up with curry, klay, towns, draymond, and wiggens.

For us we would get salary flexibility, a guaranteed top 6 pick for the upcoming draft and another young affordable prospect in Wiseman.

Looks like a win win to me. What do you guys think? Also are there any other trade ideas you guys would like to see instead?

So... after striking out repeatedly on young prospects except for ONE guy... you're suggesting the Timberwolves should trade THAT guy... to take more wild swings in the draft in hopes that one of them could maybe/possibly become as good as him in a few years?

Yes that is exactly what I'm suggesting. It would be a better overall plan than letting the team tank with him.

We are capped out with a bottom 5 NBA team the way things stand now so rebuilding would be a better option in my opinion..

trading away your future draft picks for a max salary player and having no cap space isn't my idea of a rebuild.

Ya no thank you on making a trade for Wiseman. 1st off Wiseman hasn't even been that good, he's been fine but he is not worth Kat and our pick back.

If we are looking at teams that might be interested in Kat some of the teams I look at are Celtics, Raptors, Hawks and the worst of the bunch the Knicks

Celtics: You have to call about Jaylen Brown. Not sure they would trade Jaylen but you have to look at Brown, Pritchard and picks for Kat

Raptors: Siakam, Powell, Brocher and picks

Hawks: Collins, Hunter, Reddish and multiple 1sts and swaps.

Knicks: Randle, Quickley, Toppin and every pick and swap for the next 8 years (4 picks and 4 swaps)

At the end of the day when the Wolves trade Kat the Wolves will need a proven young asset back in the trade. Wolves can't just trade for future picks and unkowns. Wolves need to be competitive going forward.

Yeah. That's where I was going. If you feel like it's dumb to build around an offensive big... or want to beat Towns' trade demands... then by all means trade him.

But trade him for something better than Hope and Prayers.

A good promising player is obviously a must.

I would absolutely look at a Jalen Brown deal but I don't think the Celtics would bite. Siakam doesn't fit the timeline to me. This team is a longs ways away from competing and would be better off following the Philly model in my opinion.

The Wolves haven't been built since KG left, so technically we're still rebuilding.
