Timberwolves Take First Step Towards Turning Franchise Around

Post by bleedspeed »

This is great news. I always felt Gary was the true problem here. He set the tone in the back office which would bleed into the front office and ultimately onto the court. There is no denying his negative impact on our defense, 3 point shortcomings, and poor drafting. .

MINNEAPOLIS--Admitting that the franchise needed a complete overhaul if they wanted to compete, the Minnesota Timberwolves fired accounts receivable clerk Gary Nilson Thursday in the first big step towards turning the team around. "We want the fans to know we are serious about winning, and if we're going to bring this team back to being a contender year after year, then it requires a total overall of the organization, which unfortunately starts with Gary," said Timberwolves president Gersson Rosas, who thanked Nilson for his dedication but explained that accounts receivable clerk was part of the past and the team was committed to doing everything it could to build a winning culture. "We know people have been disappointed in the team's performance, none more than us, which is why we need to clear salary space like this and bring in some big up-and-coming accounting talent. Whether it's revamping the marketing department or even the custodial staff, this is going to be a complete franchise overhaul. If people are not carrying their weight, then they are going to lose their job." At press time, Timberwolves GM Scott Layden had been given a $25 million extension for all his hard work.

Good find bleed. Nilson was terrible. Good move by this franchise.

I hear Taylor recently commented that the team is determined to make a full 360 degree turn around and not going to half ass it with minor 180 degree turn around!

Good times are coming fellas!

Finally someone is being held accountable. My dad who is an accountant always said Gary's reconciling processes were obviously flawed. This obviously was trickling down to every part of the franchise.

That is good to hear. I think Taylor has finally turned a corner. Now he just has three more to go!

My Dad is a retired banker and long-time season ticket holder. He's been wanting Gary out for a loooong time, not just for the sloppy reconciling, but his overall work habits (he thinks Gary was a pretty big influence on Wiggins' poor motor). I can't wait to call him and discuss the big news.

You know Gary will get picked up by another team and fix their whole accounting department.

I wish this was the only thing Gary did. I am surprised TMZ has not exposed him for hooking up with everyone's GF and wife in the organization. This is the real reason Bulter wanted out so badly.
