Name your top 7 mock and top 5 players you want for the Wolves
With the week of the draft here let's get a sense of where everyone is leaning and what they think will go down with this stacked class!
Top 7 Mock
1 76ers take Fultz-Obvious pick
2 Lakers take Ball-I think Magic was trying to trade up more than down, he settles with Ball
3 Boston takes Tatum-The first surprise of the draft, I think he fits there much better than Jackson
4 Suns takes Issac-Lucky bastards ugh
5 Kings take Fox-Good fit and he's flat out said he wants to go there (for some reason)
6 Magic take Smith Jr- The Magic have the least talent in the NBA, they need scorer + potential star
7 Wolves take Jackson!- In a stunning turn of events and league fascination with distance shooting he falls to us
Top 5 Most Wanted
I was going to start off with Fultz, Ball etc but I will try to go with the realistic angle as far as who will be there
1-Jackson. An elite do shit player who's a great defender and a incredible motor for a player at any level
2-Isaac. We have talked him to death and almost all of us love him, would be a great addition
3-Markkanen. I believe he will be a prolific 3 point shooter/offensive player and deadly alongside KAT
4-Tatum. Redundant skills at first glance yes but there is too much talent there to ignore
5-Monk. I had a very hard time not putting Smith Jr here but Monk's scoring wins out

I don't know or care much about mocks. I really have no idea after those first 2 or 3 picks, although I wouldn't be surprised to see Boston opt for Tatum at 3.
I'm also assuming Fultz and Ball are gone and the rest of the guys could potentially drop.
1. Can I just say I want Jackson and end it there? I can't believe he'd be available at 7, so I don't even want to entertain the thought too much. He'd be an almost perfect fit for us. I love that guy's game.
2. If we can't get Jackson, there's something I really like about Fox, although I know that would kill us with redundancy with Rubio and Dunn--see, I'm not all about fit! I just think Fox looks like a special leader. Again though, he'd not getting past Sacramento.
3. If Anunoby or even Anigbogu drop as expected, trade down for one of them and pick up a future first or a good player and a later pick with which we could grab Bell or another sleeper. If we could pull something like that off, that would be a good deal. Both of those guys could make a really big defensive impact, plus adding a future first will give us something to fight about next year!
4. Isaac. I'm not as high on him as others, but I've come around a bit on him. I think he's got boom/bust with a higher chance of bust than a lot of people want to admit, but even if he ended up being just ok, his versatility would fit.
5. Tatum. I'm torn between him and Monk, but for the sake of size and fit, I'd take Tatum. I'd take Isaac over him for the defense, but it would honestly be kind of close for me.
Can't believe I don't have him listed: Monk. I don't like the fit, but man, the kid can shoot and score like crazy. I'm really torn on him vs. Tatum. That dude could really light this league up.
In my dreams before Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors: get Jimmy Butler for the pick and Dunn or Rubio or LaVine. Now, I don't think that makes sense because nobody's getting by the Warriors anytime soon, so I'm more comfortable with waiting. But that trade would definitely make us better fast. Still, I don't see the point for the next couple of years, sadly. Nobody's getting by the Warriors anytime soon.

Collins does look good, it's true. I think somebody is gonna be happy with him. Can block shots and shows range.

All IN, especially if it's OG. I had a dream where he recovers completely and is the next Kawai.

When it comes to trading down or buying into the 2nd round, another guy that put up sparkling numbers and is a model citizen and winner is Josh Hart. Man, hard to believe he's mocked that low. These upperclassmen really get screwed by the draft process and its where San Antonio just eats everyone's lunch.
Jordan Bell, Josh Hart, Sidarius Thornwell. Heck, may be even Swanigan is a bargain as a bench big that can come in and punish some teams inside.
Regardless of what happens at #7, I'd love to see us obtain a 2nd round pick and snag a strong upperclassman.

I'm really pining for Bell. I have to believe Thibs sees that guy and salivates. I'd love to make a trade down and come out of this draft with Collins and Bell. That is my perfect scenario.

Top 7:

3. Tatum
4. Jackson
5. Fox

7. Monk
For Wolves:

5. Markkanen
I wouldn't mind seeing them trade into the bottom of round 1 or round 2 either. I like Josh Hart a lot, I also really like Semi Ojeleye and Jordan Bell. Davon Reed could be a sleeper too.

I'm not sure I see OG turning into Kahwi (though nobody saw Kahwi turning into Kahwi either!), but I can see OG being somewhere between mid-Kahwi (when he was more just cracking All-Star status but before the MVP level stuff) and Ron Artist without the mental issues. That's a pretty damn good player. Can actually defend 5 positions well. His shot and (to a lesser degree) handle worry me, but if we can get him AND pick up an extra first or another player and a pick to grab a sleeper in this draft, I like it.

I'll give you thte 5 guys in order who will become the best NBA players:
1) Josh Jackson
2) Lonzo Ball
3) DeAaron Fox
4) Jonathan Isaac
5) Zach Collins
If the Wolves can trade up to get Jackson, it would be an incredibly astute move.
