Maker, Brogdon, McCaw

Post by SameOldNudityDrew »

What do these three have in common?

DX projected all three for the second round last year, and all three ended up playing important playoff minutes for their teams this spring.

Why mention this?

First, it's kind of cool to see stories like that (not to mention IT going #60 and now becoming a star, however flawed). Second, it's a reminder that you just never know with the draft exactly how these guys are gonna turn out. Here's hoping we get lucky this year, whoever we pick.

Also, if you want to go back and see who DX had projected where in previous years, you can use the Waybackmachine, an internet archive. It's generally a sobering look at how conventional wisdom (as depicted by DX) has often been wrong. It's a pretty cool tool for lots of websites, basically allowing you to go to that website and use it as if it were any time you pick in the past. But around this time of year, it's fun to see who was projected to go where in the past.

I wanted us to buy a pick like Golden State did and draft McCaw. I though McCaw had late lottery talent and won't be surprised if he eventually becomes a good rotation player.
