Starting PG next season if you could choose?
Pick one but stay realistic. Teague may opt out, Rose may resign, Tyus may resign. Draft rookie. Sign FA.

I hope Teague opts out and that Rose is signed as the starter for around 10-12 per for 3 years. It would give us good value if and thats a BIG IF he stays healthy and plays as well as he has. It's a gamble but I'd make it. Meanwhile we would need to add good insurance as well in case as backup.

I'm not saying it's a bad poll, but it's challenging for me because Teague is obviously going to opt in...that's too much money for an undersized guy his age to walk away from. What do I want? I want Teague to opt out, give the starting PG job to solid-defending, ball-moving Tyus Jones, and give Rose 30 minutes backing up Tyus and Wig and providing 20 PPG of spark off the bench. But since you're saying "be realistic", we have to settle for Thibs returning after another 8th seed and Teague returning as starting PG.

LST, Teague may look for a deal that is longer at a reduced price point. These guys look at the total value of their contract, not just the next year, so don't rule out him opting out. I don't think he's a real happy camper playing for Thibs and there are plenty of teams that know he's playing in an offense designed by a caveman:
I really like Tyus, but he has got to hit open 3's if he's going to amount to much more than a reliable backup PG. Him missing that open corner 3 last night was a killer. As you said yourself, the 3-ball is what cost us the game. He's gotta hit that shot.

Remember though the cap is going up and many teams will have cap room and money to spend, just maybe Teague will want to sign a long term deal. It make sense if he thinks he can get it, which he probably could. Even with a slight pay cut he could guarantee himself a lot more money in case of injury.
I don't think it's a given he opts in.

I honestly don't have an answer to this. I think PG is a total wildcard as we head into this offseason. I would almost assign even percentages to every option provided.

Who do you want is the question. I definitely know it's a wildcard, a lot more has to happen before we can really answer this with clarity.

Well, if Teague does opt out (and I still think it's unlikely...he clearly has incriminating photos of Thibs, and might not get a starting role with another coach), my answer is pretty easy. I get that Tyus has to hit that open three, but I think with regular minutes he can return to the average 3-point shooter he was at Duke. A Tyus/Roco/Wig trio gives us a very active defensive start to the game, and I love Rose scoring off the bench. Tyus has always been a winner at every level as a starting PG because he gets scorers involved and plays smart defense, and I think he would be here too...might be just what KAT and Wig need to really realize their offensive potential. Again, I don't think it's likely, but I would love to see Jeff opt out.

Alot will depend on the coach.
Teague, hell everyone would likely look better in a different system.
If its thibs, ill take tyus with rose off the bench. I want someone to get the team involved to start games.

Re: Starting PG next season if you could choose?
Tyus starting isn't the answer, he can't handle going against starting caliber PG's in this league for 25-30 minutes a night. Disaster!! He does some nice things, but could argue his a bottom half the league backup.
