Nice. We forget sometimes we almost drafted Parker and Jalil Okafor.

Or we could be the bulls and max out 2 guys that are the worst defensive players at their positions (according to drpm).

Re: RPM is out
Yikes...Zach LaVine is 89th out of 90 in DRPM...disgraceful for a guy with his athletic ability and work ethic to suck so bad at defense. It's exactly why I was so against Flip drafting him at 14...having watched him come off the bench his freshman year at UCLA, it was clear to me he just didn't get defensive basketball. We're so lucky to have RoCo (#1 in DRPM among SF's) and Saric (71 out of 91, but a stopper compared to Zach!) and be done with Zach.

Go look at Embiid and Simmons vs. KAT and Wiggins. Butler made the right decision for himself. I'm not defending the way he went about doing it, but he's with superior talent now with a chance to win the East.

Re: RPM is out
KAT and Gorgui among the bottom in Centers for DRPM. Yup, that sounds about right. While KAT has made some strides defensively, you have to wonder how high his ceiling is at this point. He's in year 4 and still looks clueless and undisciplined at times in how he defends PnR.
Teams that know what they are doing put Teague and KAT or Wiggins and KAT in pick and roll coverage.

Okogie is ranked below LaVine?
Re: RPM is out
RPM still strikes me as a ESPN tool to have a niche stat. The cumulative and supposedly predictive elements seem dubious statistically to me particularly when used like this to isolate rankings at the beginning of a year. KAT has played better defensively in the last 8 or so games but it would never show up in this metric at this point.

You're giving Butler too much credit. He wanted to go to the Clippers, Nets, or Knicks.

It's kinda fun to look at but yeah it's too early especially for this Wolves team who had Butler in and out of the lineup plus the whole thing with Butler, various injuries and the 3rd hardest schedule of the season etc.
