Curry's broken hand... and what it MIGHT mean for the Timberwolves.

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

So obviously, the Warriors are going to embrace a full tank this season, circa the 1997 Spurs when David Robinson got hurt -- leading to Tim Duncan being drafted.

IF the Warriors picked up D. Russell as a placeholder + eventual bait... it seems like his run in GS will end even sooner than expected.

He hasn't been overly impressive obviously, but he also hasn't been so abjectly terrible that Rosas' opinion of him would have changed already.

How long until we start to hear some buzz about a possible deal? And what would it look like?

I have seen the trade talk mentioned in my news feeds before the season even started.

That said - I would gladly trade them Wiggins in a second for DLO. Dieng and Teuge? Sure, but they won't want those two. Wiggins is the only rotation guy I would move - not even Culver or Ried.

I am not sure who has cap space to take on a max contract without giving back a max contract - so they are pretty stuck with him at this point unless they are going to take on back deals.

Any trade for DLO is just a bad idea. Lets move on.

let's hear your thought out plan on upgrading the PG position for the team? Something other than shoulda-in-hindsight-drafted-every-all-star-after-they-became-an-all-stars-retrospect ideas.

D'Angelo Russell must have done something to you personally. The vitriol for a 23-year old All-Star [replacement] at a position of need who happens to be very close friends with the franchise's star player is a bit over-the-top -- UNLESS he did something to cause you individual pain. Other than that very reason, your view just makes little to no sense.

Any trade for him is a bad idea? Are you absolutely sure of that? The long-rumored idea by those with no ties to the Wolves have Gersson Rosas sending Robert Covington and Jeff Teague to Golden State. Now, ideally, you find a way to hold on to Covington, but if that's really what the price is for Russell -- it's pretty acceptable.

If your time frame is beyond this year, I think there will be plenty of options to either draft a young point guard (next year's draft is PG heavy), develop Culver, or sign a young free agent and develop him. Lowry was once on the scrap heep and we need Rosas to find guys that can be developed. Young guys that were drafted outside the lottery or were free agents and are starting to emerge include Vanvleet, Delon Wright, Derrick White, Dejounte Murray, Nunn and Satoransky. Once we shed Teague and Dieng's contract, we will have money to sign a vet if need be.

I just think he sucks and is a bad fit here and you constantly overhype him. I have no more vitriol for him than the posters who constantly rag on Wiggins. I have a natural aversion to guys who play like DLO who are inefficient ball hogs and play no defense and get paid way more than they deserve. You are entitled to your opinion on DLO and respect my opinion. Go read the Warriors boards who are very anti-DLO and get a different perspective. I will say that I will likely watch more tape on DLO than anyone on the board since I watch many of the Warriors games.

If we could get DLo for Roco and Teague I think you have to do it. I'd suspect that draft picks would have to be part of it, but who knows?

Sorry No!
Rocco at his salary and being a two way player > DLO.
