Massive overreactions to 1 game

Post by kekgeek »

Zach lavine will never play for a winning team. He struggles in a loss to the terrible Hornets.

PJ Washington is the rookie of the year. 27pts and he will get all the opportunity in the world to put up stats.

Butler already sick of the heat. Sits out for personal reasons.

Jason Tatum is Wiggins 2.0

The Mavs are the future of the west. Doncic and Porzingas go off but they have nobody else.

My massive overreaction is that it looks like we effed up on the Culver pick judging by how some of the guys taken after him played in one game.

Yes, one can't really judge a draft pick until often years after the draft, but I am really worried about his outside shot. And we know the Wolves have a history of never being able to take a poor shooter and turn them into anything other than a....poor shooter (Wiggins, Rubio, Brewer, Okogie, Tyus Jones, just to list a few random examples).

Culver was literally the last guy I wanted in the draft where we were picking. White was right there, but the fact that we traded a player in Saric from a position of need at the 4 to get a player that has so many deficiencies really bothers me.

I said it at the time, Gersas blew that first major move he made. Didn't understand it then, don't understand it now. Thankfully he's done some decent things since then.

This thread is living up to the hype.

How many first round picks do we need to include to get Devonte Graham from the Hornets?

I think Culver fits on the roster Rosas wants. He just doesn't fit on the current roster. Rosas tried to get Garland and Russell this offseason. Primary ball handling guards who have defensive deficiencies. You get a guy like Culver to go next to that type of player to be versatile defensively and be a secondary creator on offense. I think Culver will be bad this year, but I think he'll be a key piece down the line when Rosas builds the team he wants.

-Wolves are going 82-0 and sweeping the playoffs! Undefeated baby!

-Markannen had 36. Dang we could have had him and Lavine instead of Wiggins.

-KAT is 1st team All NBA, heck he is MVP!!!!

...he could also be a trade asset used to get the key piece we want. Okogie and Graham may just as well be the guy that could be a defensive-minded dirty work guy to play next to a primary ball handler.

Overreaction here, obviously, but still valid points in your response. I think Culver winds up being a very solid starter in this league even if he'll have problem areas within his game. I also think he's going to be one of those guys that shows an increase in development -- unlike most other Wolves draft picks.

But if we all remember correctly, I wanted to hold at our original draft slot and take Herro. Man, I think the excitement here would be bananas had we done exactly that.
