General soreness vs kat

Post by crazy-canuck [enjin:18955461] »

Let's get this started early.

Along with Horford, jojo is the other guy that gets into kats head.

We match up really poorly with the 6ers, especially if rose and teague are both in. Our record the past couple months with rose playing is not pretty which also meant less minutes for okogie while our record with an inactive rose is pretty good with more minutes for okogie.

Which wiggy shows up? His brought energy and has been aggressive, but his shot just hasn't been there.

Who covers simmons?
Who covers jimmy?
Who covers reddick?

We also have a new ast coach: jerry sichting.

Jerry Sichting was always McHale's go-to assistant coach. In fact, Sichting was the main architect of McHale's offensive and defensive schemes - the Xs and Os guy - while McHale stayed at a very high level.

I'd put Okogie on Simmons, Teague on Reddick, and Wiggins on Butler (that should be fun!). I could see Embiid being guarded by both KAT and Taj since we'll want to keep KAT out of foul trouble and save him a bit for offense.

I think this is anyone's game.

I don't know if okogie can handle the simmons post ups. And are we even sure okogie starts with rose healthy?

Another option is you put Taj on Simmons and Okogie on Chandler (?). I guess I don't want Okogie guarding Butler because I think he'll take him to the woodshed and draw a bunch of fouls on him whereas Andrew will be a bit more disciplined and given some leeway with the officials. Plus he'll be very motivated is my sense.

I like Teague on Redick he actually does a pretty decent job just changing shooters around. I've seen various tweets of video of Simmons going to a post up game with a fade-away. I don't know how much they go to that but Okogie could struggle he is gonnna he too small. Okogie on Butler would be fun (maybe not as fun as Wiggins on Butler) also.

Having Simmons post up and having to hit contested turnarounds and jump hooks may not be a bad strategy. The key is not to let him face up and get to the basket.

I know it won't happen, but I would prefer to see Rose or Tyus start and play Reddick, with Okogie on butler and WIg on Simmons. We don't give up as much size and it Okogie will wear Butler out.

Interesting info Lip. Thinking about about it...more partly because we don't know a lot about assistants but it doesn't seem like we have an X's and O's as an assistant. Maybe the other Greer (Larry) is. I'm not saying the other guys don't have knowledge but I don't know if any of them are known for that type of thing. I found Sichting's coaching history interesting. He actually coached 5 games at the end of a HS season because the coach quit and Jerry was available. Lol he also was an assistant coach for Tom Crean at Marquette. He was with Hornecek in his 2 HC stops. I wonder how much Sichting did there also.
