Sounds like Rosas isn't just gonna roll over on a Covington trade

The odds of either of those very late 1st round picks ever ending up even remotely close to as good to Covington is very very low.
That's not to say I wouldn't be up for trading the guy. Late round draft picks we have to wait several years to see what they are is very "meh" to me.
I'd rather have a young player who's shown SOMETHING thus far.

Its amusing to me that some of the comments (after Stein's tweet) thinking the Wolves are asking too much in terms of 2 first round picks for Covington. I would guess Houston would have zero problems giving up 2 of their firsts to get him. Of course the problem is would the Wolves want to picks that low that are a little better than 2 high 2nd round picks. Getting cap space (Nene non-guaranteed) and 2 late first round picks...not exciting but they could do worse...my guess is they may do better. I think unless Cov is really unhappy or something if the Houston deal I outlined is the best they can do I would say wait until the off season and see what you can accomplish then. If you had confidence in this group picking some good players with those late picks like the Nets did then you do this deal and use the cap space to add more picks by absorbing bad salary...like the Nets did. Ultimately if the Wolves get a good offer for Covington I think they need to do it. I'd be a surprised if they didn't get some good offers. Will they be good enough to deal him? idk we will see. I'd like to see them get a pick and a young player. Like Abe said it would be nice to get something back that's done something.

Jon K says wolves still actively going for Dlo.
Also knicks interested in Dlo

I haven't chimed in much on the possible Russell trade. I genuinely don't know whether it works or not... there are definite takes that make sense both ways.
BUT...
Is it alarming that the other franchise hot on his trail is arguably the Knicks... one of the only teams in the conversation with the Wolves for truly inept decision-making for the better part of 20 years?
[Note: And the Knicks seem to be getting worse and worse on their decisions... last summer was embarrassingly bad.]

I've come around on DLO a bit, but only if it means Wiggins is part of the deal. DLO + KAT I think could really be a nice duo offensively that could carry an even bigger load than KAT/Wiggins do now because DLO is a better ball handler and passer than Wig. But we damn well better find hard-nosed defenders at pretty much every other position up and down the rest of the roster. These two are awful on that side.

Jon K rarely weighs in on trade rumors before anything actually happens, so this must be pretty real. My worry is we have to part with Dieng and RoCo to make it happen (versus Wiggins). Then we're left with three highly paid snowflakes in KAT, DLO, and Wiggins and lose two valuable role players in the process. Our defense would only get worse and Wiggins would probably become nearly invisible as DLO takes a lot of his possessions.

Yep, it is scary that the teams interested in Dlo are the 2 of the 3 (Kings) worst franchises in basketball are trying to get Dlo. Its a big risk either way.

I read Zach Lowe article today and he was saying they might use the draft capital they get from Cov and trade that with a contract that matches (Gorugi or Wiggins) to get Dlo. I can live with bringing in Dlo but man I am losing confidence in Rosas because there is nothing he has done so far that has been a home run or even a double right now.
