At this point it looks like Miami Heat are pushing hard for a deal and may be the frontrunners. It appears any deal will include Whiteside and some other pieces. The most frequent other names mentioned are Waiters, Richardson and Winslow. There also might be a pick involved. Gorgui is part of the deal.
I hope its Whiteside, Richardson and an unprotected first. I don't like Waiters, so to me he has negative trade value.
If Richardson is part of the deal, Miam's offer is legit. Still hoping Washington or Philly makes a stronger offer that includes Porter or Covington respectively.
Trade Talks Update
Re: Trade Talks Update
I really hope Whiteside is not in the deal. Whiteside has been really bad since he got paid. Overrated on defense and we don't need an overpaid max player at a position that we are already fine with. Whiteside also has a gigantic attitude.

Yeah, Whiteside gets criticized like Wiggins for his effort. Miami supposedly was looking to unload him last trade deadline. But if we get a coach who can maximize his talents, he'd be a nice pairing with KAT. He's on a two year deal, so he could be unloaded then. Dieng's on a longer deal. Richardson is a must. I'll throw up if its just Whiteside and Waiters. I'd take Olynyk or Winslow before Waiters.
But supposedly, Glen is trying to get some offers and use them to try to get a bit of a bidding war. Maybe, the Miami proposal is just that at this stage. I hope he can find a better deal with other clubs and to my knowledge Philly and Portland are teams interested in Butler and potentially can get us a better offer.

Ya I agree, Richardson has to be in any deal with the Heat. I just don't want Whiteside back in the deal, give my olynk. Just don't think having 3 huge contracts with big guys is a smart idea in todays NBA.

I think if Taylor wants to unload Dieng, he has to take back Whiteside. If Dieng weren't moved, I think you could swap Olynyk or Winslow for Whiteside and pair him with Richardson.

Re: Trade Talks Update
Jimmy and dieng for richardson, whiteside and unprotected pick should be what we are asking.
I understand the reluctance in whiteside, but you have to take him if you want to unload dieng. Whiteside is a year shorter and should be moveable a year from now.
Richardson is the player we must get in any deal with the heat. Legit 3 and d guy locked in for a reasonable contract.
Whiteside, if he accepts a bench role and dont act up, would be useful to the team. A bench unit of nunnaly/tolliver/whiteside/tyus/rose is a nice mix of skills.
I dont think we could get eqaul value in a jimmy trade now. The way the situation unfolded just makes it difficult for us. But richardson, unprotected first and swap of dieng/whiteside is not bad.
