Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry
If Ricky is traded would Lowry be worth going after? Yes he's 31 but he'd also bring that veteran leadership this team needs and seems like a perfect fit for mentoring ( there's that word again) Dunn . The guys a bulldog and seems to be a thibs type of guy. Yes his playoff resume is meh but at least he's leading his teams there.
Re: Kyle Lowry
I just finished listening to the latest "You Betcha Basketball". I don't think Rubio is going anywhere...

Re: Kyle Lowry
No way he is the biggest choke artist in the NBA and his game is not the type to age well

Well he wouldn't be relied on as heavily here as he is in Toronto. He also has added more perimeter shooting to his arsenal the past few years to age his game better (over 40% from 3 on more than 7 attempts per game). I think he'd be a great fit here, but he's just going to cost too much to be worth it because he is 31. I think he'll be a solid player for the duration of his next contract, but he's looking at potentially a max which is too much. I'd be all on board if we could get him for a shorter big deal, but I don't see it happening.
Re: Kyle Lowry
I'd prefer George Hill and it would cost less.
Re: Kyle Lowry
First of all what a player Lowry has turned into. He used to be the other guy on his college team. Too short couldn't shoot all that stuff. The guy played on the Olympic team is a fun personality and in general a fun player to watch. That draft Lowry and Paul Millsap ended up 2 of the best player and Lowry was a 24th overall pick that was supposed to just be a quality backup and Millsap was a 2nd round flyer type.
Now would I pay him to come to this team? No Indont think I would. He would be a good fit but his age and how much he would cost plus he has missed a few games here and there which is just a little bit of concern I could think of other guys with much more injury concerns.

Re: Kyle Lowry
We should have drafted Lowry instead of Foye. Said it at the time too. He was always the more interesting Villanova prospect. That was still in the time when teams would shy away from freshman.

We should have traded Foye for Allen Iverson, god I was furious at the time
Re: Kyle Lowry
I just don't think this team is that far off , remember the shot in the arm Cassell gave this team and he was 35 ish. At 31 Lowry still has 4 good years left in him. Let's face it chances are anyone that gets signed here isn't gonna be here 5 years from now anyways. Kat and Wiggins will be mainstays while most every other position will be more fluid from year to year. That's the nature of the league now.

I remember there were a few big time Lowry guys on the old ESPN boards. I wasn't a big fan of the Foye pick.
