Digging for Gold - Nuggets@Wolves GDT

Post by Q12543 [enjin:6621299] »

We match up terribly against these guys, as they have big, active forwards in Gallo, Chandler, and Faried that just kill us seemingly every game. And they have Jokic, who is quietly putting up some ridiculous numbers. Seriously, this guy is as skilled if not more so than our own 2nd year big man, Karl Anthony-Towns.

If we win tonight, I will declare that a corner has truly been turned.....may be not to playoff caliber basketball, but at least we can say we're once again a competitive team.

Q with the game thread! You must be ready for this one.

The Nuggets do give us problems, but I can't say Jokic is more skilled than KAT. I think you're given to some hyperbole on these guys. I mean they're 6 games under .500 for a reason.

Hey, Q! The more intriguing line tonight is no Rubio. Dunn gets the start with Tyus backing him up.

The Wolves have generally stunk when Rubio is out. But the team has grown a ton throughout this season, and I am interested to see how we do with no Rubio. Dunn adds defense to the starting unit, which may not suffer too badly on offense without Rubio. And Tyus might be just what the doctor ordered for the bench unit on offense.

I'm a believer in Dunn, especially his defensive ability but he has a ways to go on defense still. He'll get to a point where is a dominant defender. He seems to try and do too much at times on defense getting and the team in trouble. He'll get there, getting more time and experience is crucial. I'm hoping he gets the opportunity to finish start and play 30 minutes a game at some point this year. There will be games he'll look bad but let's see it now rather then later.

No hyperbole on Jokic. The dude has been absolutely sick lately with the kind of numbers he puts up. I do think KAT can take it to him on offense though. As for the others, they aren't that great on balance, but against us they seem to play like stars.

Yup, I'm just as excited to see how Jones does with our second unit. I really think he could get Bazz some good looks.

Dunn with three big buckets early. Denver was clearly going to make him shoot and he made them pay. Now KAT is just picking them apart out of the post.

Our defense......not so good.

Can Zach not get beat on backdoor cuts so easily!? Geez, I've never seen two athletic wings that get beat on cuts more than Zach and Wiggins. Anticipate and use your quickness to recover!
