Its time to dump Bazz
I really hope we can trade or dump Bazz soon. He gives us nothing positive on most nights. He plays out of control on both ends and lacks sufficient court awareness. He's plateaued since his second year and I don't see him getting better. He will be gone after this season anyway. I want to see Belly play more 3 anyway and Rush also could play 3.
I don't think its a coincidence that the Wolves had their best three game stretch when Bazz was injured (winning twice and losing a close one)

I'm not sure what we can get for him since he's an UFA this offseason, right? He won't be back next season either way.

Wolves: Shabazz Muhammad
Lakers: Thomas Robinson
That's probably as good as it gets, and I'd take it. Robinson has bounced around the league, but the one thing he can always say is that he's a pretty decent rebounder. And he'd immediately be our most physically imposing power forward.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but that's about right. I still love Bazz's energy, but his game hasn't progressed. His outside shot is broken, and even his little lefty hook that was money his rookie year is erratic now. I still think I'd rather see Payne playing some PF minutes than Robinson, but Thibs only uses him when his bench is thin. And Robinson, while disappointing based on his college career, isn't going to hurt us. It's sad, but I would do this deal.

Thomas Robinson?
Meh. I'd rather just keep Muhammad. Feeling things is a good thing... even if it's anger at a guy playing basketball on my tv. With Thomas Robinson... I'd feel nothing. He's irrelevant in every way in the NBA.

Abe, I get the emotional connection aspect. But for me its other players I have emotionally connected with like KAT, Gorgui, Ricky, Zack, Tyus and Belly. I wouldn't want to trade any of them for their equal counterpart. Now, Bazz I have a negative emotional connection (as I think knucklehead or selfish every time I watch him) and would gladly trade him for his equal.

He might just have to be a salary filler in a potential Rubio deal...

I think it is time too, but as mentioned we might want to move him as part of a larger Rubio deal to provide more value.

Maybe I should be more clear. I hate Shabazz Muhammad as a player. Always have. But I'd rather hate-watch him to feel SOMETHING vs. feeling nothing as I watch Thomas Robinson do nothing.

That's not entirely fair to Robinson. Granted, I wasn't as high on him as most people were when he came out of Kansas, and I'm far from the leader of the "T-Rob for MIP" campaign, but when he's on the floor you know two positive things will always happen. He's going to attack the glass and he's going to make some kind of athletically-gifted "wow" play. The latter is subjective, but the numbers actually support the former claim.
We'd all probably agree that Gorgui Dieng is an adequate rebounder. I'm using him as an example because everyone here has seen enough of him play -- not because I'm picking on him. Over the last three seasons, including the 18 games this season, his REB% has been 15.9, 15.3, and 15.1. Robinson's, in comparison, has been 20.5, 22.0, and 21.5. The difference in minutes played is certainly something to consider, but otherwise, the eye test tells me the same thing: he's effective at cleaning the glass.
