In defense of Wiggins...
In defense of Wiggins...
... I've got nothing, how about you? He's going to have a long career, he's never going to realize even half of his potential.
Andrew Wiggins is Michael Beasley for all intents and purposes. Both supremely gifted, neither having the drive to do what's necessary to be great. I'm not sure Wiggins has the drive to be anything that would take effort at this point.

It wasn't too long ago people scoffed at my Darko comparison... he will be out of the league in five years after he takes Glens $150,000,000...

No chance he's out of the league that soon unless by choice. Like Beasley there will always be teams willing to take a chance in his raw talent. Of course few of them will do so with a Max contract attached.

Right now he's tradable for based on a $7.5m salary. Do it now rather waiting until the wolves have to take back $30m in bad contracts!

I'm suggesting he will be out of the game by choice. I don't see why as little as he cares that he wouldn't take the money and find a new life - maybe Darko will teach him to farm...
Re: In defense of Wiggins...
There is simply no point in defending Wiggins. Suggestions of Bazz starting in place of him (gotta get those 1.7 rebounds per 36 mins more than Wiggins!!) confirm that for me.
And no he isn't freaking Darko. Beasely? Ok that comp makes some sense although Wiggins has less issues than super cool Beas and stays healthy.

Not sure about this. I tried on ESPN Trade Machine, and it is saying he has one of those Poison Pill contracts where the other team is essentially taking back like $25MM rather than his current contract numbers. This looks to be in effect until June 2018. Makes him tough to move.

Starting Bazz is a ridiculous idea. One, he's not going to help the team win more than a disengaged Wig. Two, if you're doing with the hope of spurring Wiggin's effort levels it's too late now that he has that guaranteed contract. Three, doing so sends crystal clear signals to the rest of the league as to what a bum Wiggins is. Of course I suspect the rest of the league see's the same thing we do, but the hope would be that you find a team willing to roll the dice AND willing to give up useful assets. The Bazz idea is a non-starter.
The Beasley comparison isn't a good one if you're Wiggins because IMO you look even worse. The problem with Beasley wasn't that he didn't appear to care, or that he didn't give the effort. The problem with Beasley was he didn't have it going on between the ears to succeed when he was younger. By all accounts Wiggins isn't an airhead, he's just not motivated to be anything more than he can be with minimal effort. I never felt contempt for Beasley, in fact I felt bad because did seem to care, he was just incapable of grasping the mental aspect of the game. Wiggins appearing to be so damn content in his mediocrity enrages me.

Theoretically any team willing to take a chance on that contract is going to want to offload as much dead weight of their own as they can. I can envision this team moving Wiggins a couple years from now for nothing more than shorter garbage contracts, and if they're lucky a heavily protected 1st round pick.
