Australia vs USA

Post by Shumway »

Morning gentlemen.

Another huge test for my Aussie Boomers. I certainly don't expect to take out a win, but another chance to see where we are for medal contention.

So far, we're more physical and looks like we're playing with a bit more intensity. USA just playing catch and shoot.

Durant is 0/5. He's terribad. Warriors made a huge mistake gutting their team for him. :-d

Bogut better than Durant, straight up?

Not in any sense of reality, but the patriotic pride comes out for me this morning.

Never thought I would see a USA Olympic game where the only reason we won is the play of Carmelo Anthony...

He was fantastic in the 2012 Olympics. Wasn't bad in 2008 either.

He's carved out a very nice Olympic career.

I confess I have not been a die-hard Olympics fan, so I must have missed his good stuff. The times I did watch him he seemed selfish and unreliable. So maybe I need to cut him a break.

But he was very good today.

Melo is a killer Olympic team PF. Nobody can guard him and he is big and athletic enough to guard guys he faces. He has pretty much been a crazy per minute scorer for them at the very least in 2012. I want to say it was the 2008 Olympics that was a breakout effort for him and the following year in the NBA he put it all together. After that he never stayed healthy among other things.
