Porzingis and KAT are easily the best two in this year's draft
Porzingis put up a huge line tonight (24 points with 14 boards, two assists, two 3-pointers and seven blocks) and he's the real deal. KAT has some competition at the top, though I am glad we drafted him over the Zinger. I'd just like to point out that someone on this board (not me) was very wrong about the Zinger. Will this person admit his mistake. Stay tuned.

I gotta agree, Ricky. I think KAT was the right choice at #1 and will run away with the ROY vote, but I think Porzingis will be second. He started slow, but has really picked it up. Ridiculous length and a true 3-point shooter...47% last five games. KAT, Porzy and Okafor could turn out to be one of the best top threes in a long time.
I don't recall much conversation here about Porzingis after we won the lottery, but there was some when we had the "black cloud" discussion about who we would draft when we inevitably got the 4th pick. I remember our Finnish pundit Mikkeman pushing for Porzy, saying he might have the highest ceiling in the draft (some smart guys were saying the same thing in the days leading up to the draft), and he convinced me that he would probably be the best pick at 4. Turns out that's where he went, much to the dismay of the booing Knicks fans who wanted Mudiay. I think those morons are happy now!

Flip obviously selected Towns, but we can all remember Flip repeatedly saying that Porzingis could turn out to be the best player in the draft. Note that Flip never used that phrase to describe any other player in the draft. So Flip knew Porzingis could be great.
It's early, but I think KAT, Porzingis and Okafor will all contend for ROY. I see the honor ultimately going to KAT. Long term I think the three best players from this draft will be KAT, Porzingis and Mudiay.

I had KAT #1 for the overall package, do the draft over today I'd still go KAT over Porzingis. Mudiay was my top guard in the draft but I was a D. Russell hater and thought he wasn't going to be a bust but he won't be a star and I felt strongly about the non-star point. I even had M. Hezonja ahead of Russell and would like to see more of Mario. If there is one guy that might push the OP idea of who the top two are, its the man child Mudiay, I watched his game against PHX the other night and was really impressed.

The excitement about Mudiay as a future star PG is exactly why I continue to be excited about Zach LaVine as a future star PG. Both are exciting athletes who make occasional draw-dropping plays, but being young and inexperienced, also occasionally are prone to WTF moments. Mudiay is fun to watch, but he can be very sloppy with the ball. Take that Suns game for example, TU. He attacked the basket and looked unguardable at times, but he also turned the ball over more times than he assisted (6 to 5)...he's averaging 4.4 TOs per game in 29 minutes. But be patient. He's being baptized by fire at the most difficult position to play in the NBA, just like Zach was last year, and he likely will make the same kind of big leap in his second year that Zach is making at PG. I see a bright future for both of them, but if the voters look at more than scoring (his PER is a Zach rookie-like 9.46), he should not be in the mix for ROY.

Cam loved Porzingis. He said he was the second coming of Andrea Bargnani.

Porzingis isn't better than Okafor. This is silliness.

he is much better than Okafor, he has insane impact on defense .. Sixers has worst defensive numbers with Okafor on the floor, meanwhile Knicks are number 23 defense without Porzingis and number 4 defense with Porzingis, also offensive repertoir of Porzingis and ceiling is much much better
Porzingis has legit shot on becoming ROY, he will play more minutes as Knicks started quite slowly with him playing only like 24 minutes per game and also they are starting to run offense through and for him a lot more, so his numbers should go up

Are you kidding me?? Porzingis impacts the team on both ends in a good way while Okafor is just offense. Porzingis leads the Knicks with a plus/minus of +67 and helped them turn around their record to 8-6. Okafor has the worst plus/minus for the 76ers and the entire leage at -187 and has helped them continue to be terrible (0-14).
Porzingis has a better true shooting percentage mainly because unlike Okafor he can make 3s and he is a very good free throw shooter. Porzingis also rebounds at a higher rate, has more steals, blocks and fewer turnovers. Okafor does have more assists though.
