CoolBreeze's 2 Things I Didn't Like Tonight Plus 1
Well now I'm confused. Get off to a nice lead that should have been even bigger - miss a bunch of shots and stop defending - fall behind by 10 - make one run that falls way short - and end up looking like we didn't belong on the court with the Pistons? No sense trying to figure out who we are right now because I don't think the team even knows. Might just be wise to expect the uneven season that most of us predicted. So here is the "What the Fuck was that" edition of the 2 + 1:
1) K - Keep getting me the ball in the 2nd half
A - Am I invisible out here while everyone else jacks up low percentage shots?
T - Time for me to play a few more minutes, especially while the game is slipping away
2) There is only room for one KMart or Bazz on the 2nd unit. One of them can be effective as a go to scorer. Two of them completely eliminates any semblance of an NBA offense. Zach needs to start with Ricky, and either KMart or Bazz needs to go or sit. We have to find a way to get some flow on that unit.
Plus 1 - We held another opponent under 100 points. That alone would have been reason to celebrate last year. But this year it's not going to be good enough. We MUST increase our pace of play. Sam likes to bang away in the half court sets and that's just not the way this team should play. I get really angry watching us 1) grab a rebound 2) go backwards while the opponent gets back 3) jog the ball up court while no one sprints into position. It's really bad strategy, and it's easy to see.
Wow, this was more like a 3 + 0. Sorry about that guys.

I agree emphatically on number 1 and 2 cool. Towns need to have more plays run tru him and he needs to play more 4th quarter mins.
As for number 2. I will choose martin as the one to go. His play disgust me tonight. He took and miss 5 or 6 of those 1 handed runners. He went on a one man semi break when he got a rebound or touches the ball before we cross the halfcourt line. I dont think we can get good quality return out of him to be honest. Any team that will be adding him will likely play him off the bench and he does nothing but hunt for his shot when he is not starting.

Well, here is a "plus 1". One of Mitchell's comments points to a possible change in the starting lineup...
Jon Krawczynski ?@APkrawczynski 3m3 minutes ago
Mitchell said too much pressure is on Wolves D. If they don't completely shut opponent down, don't have enough firepower to outscore them

Regarding pace of play, just checked and we're 13th, but I agree in that it should improve and probably should be top 5 with our young athletes and point guard. Lack of 3 point shooting volume again tonight, no Drummond hacking.

It's obvious by this point two trios aren't working:
KG/Prince/RR: two guys who have no offense and a third that thrives on being able to pass to guys who can score.
Bazz/Lavine/K-Mart: Three scorers and no floor general (altho props to Lavine for doing the best he can)
I expect to see a starting lineup change next game. This was a good experiment but it needs to end.

I'd say it was a bad experiment that never should have happened and can't end soon enough. I'd like to have a head coach who doesn't need a 10 + game experiment to understand the obvious. It's time to put our 6'9 Canadian phenom into his rightful SF position and make Zach our starting SG. But it was time to so that 3 weeks ago.

Choosing between Bazz and Martin is pretty clear to me. One still has room to improve, the other is who he is.. If we've been willing to be patient with other highly drafted players I think we should afford Muhammed the same right. It has to be tough for a young player to be consistent when his minutes and running mates are ever changing. I think if Shabazz was given more minutes along with playing along side starter talent he would succeed. From what I've seen it seems Martin shuts him out completely when they play together.

None of you were complaining about this when we started out 4-2. Now some of you say we should have done this 3 weeks ago? Ha.
