Where would Wiggins be drafted in this year's draft?

Post by longstrangetrip [enjin:6600564] »

I stole this one from rubechat, but found it interesting. If Andrew Wiggins were in this year's draft with Towns, Okafor, Russell et al, where would he be drafted?

Is this intended as a "knowing what we know now" question with Wiggins or should we pretend he hasn't already played one year in the NBA and just finished up his freshman year at KU?

I think he is a clear cut number one.

I don't know if he goes #1.

Remember, he didn't exactly go out with a blaze of glory after his one year in college. Meanwhile, Towns just keeps rising and rising... I think the Towns hype/promise would have led to him being taken ahead of Wiggins.

I think Wiggins would probably slot in at #2...

Good question. I think it's better to go with "what we knew then". Wiggins is coming off his freshman year at Kansas and has been in the spotlight as a phenom for 5-6 years.

I think the experts would still draft him #1 because of his extraordinary physical gifts...there just isn't an athlete like him in this year's draft.

I said #1 based on what we know now.

Coming off his freshman year would be tough. I would be trying to determine him or Russell. Looking back Wiggins was pretty solid as a freshman.

I think it's easy, #1. He had been a phenom since he was 13 years old. Nobody in this current draft is a sure thing like he was.

I'd say "it depends" then. He would absolutely go Top 3, but big men always command a slight premium, and given the fact Wiggins didn't totally kill it at KU, I could see a scenario where Towns and/or Okafor would be taken before him. So anywhere from 1-3 for sure, depending on team needs.

Maybe. I know he was the probable #1 pick last season... but it wasn't a lock was it?

I just think the Towns momentum is in full swing right now and depending on the team... there would be some uncertainty at the top of the draft.

So would have Parker been the first pick in this draft?
