Mike D'Antoni Update

Former coach Mike D'Antoni formally interviewed for the Denver Nuggets job Tuesday, according to a report by Yahoo! Sports.

The job is currently held by interim coach Melvin Hunt, whose chances of keeping the job full-time have improved in recent weeks, ESPN.com's Marc Stein reports.

D'Antoni, who coached the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns, as well as the Nuggets for the 50-game lockout season in 1998-99, has been widely regarded as the only other known candidate for the Denver job.

The Nuggets are the only team in the market for a new head coach. The team fired coach Brian Shaw in early March and promoted Hunt from assistant to interim coach.

Not a terrible fit, but he's not really known for valuing defense....at all. That would scare me.

Of the guys with any kind of real success as head coaches that is not employed D'Antoni is a guy I like the least. He seems like an arrogent guy that seems like he doesn't even care about defense and while I do think he is a good offensive mind no thanks. What success has he had in years? He might be a good fit in Denver though and if he isn't good well for the Wolves that keeps one team out of our way. I like the Nuggets to do well because I've had a soft spot for them for years though going back to the 80's when we could listen to their games on the Radio. It was one of the few things my brother and I did together when we didn't fight. Lol

I think he is a good fit got Nuggets. I always view them as an uptempo team.
