Young for Garnett trade discussed

Post by TeamRicky [enjin:6648771] »

The Wolves and Nets have discussed a deal to send Thaddeus Young to the Nets in exchange for Kevin Garnett, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.com.

Strangely I thought about this deal this morning as a possible deal before I heard this report. I am not sure what to make of it. I am ok with keeping Thad as I think he plays well with Rubio and he seems to be a good locker room guy. I expect we will get a big in next year's draft so Thad may ultimately be gone when his contract is up or unless he accepts a bench role at a reduced salary. I love KG too, but he's a shell of his elite self. I would rather ship them AB for KG. If we get KG, would his intensity be a good or bad thing for a young squad?

Thad for KG means we gave up a top 16 pick for nothing.

Like I told you earlier. Let's see how the Wolves are going to mess this thing up.

I think this would pretty much solidify that Garnett is going to eventually become the owner. Jalen Rose was talking about it a month ago. Yes the pick was wasted but we knew that after a month of seeing Thad on the court.

I'm far from the biggest Thad fan, but this trade might just push me over the edge.

You hate kg too much man. He is going to be the new owner. You're going to have to get used to him being around the team.

I have maintained the same point cam, don't be so sensitive. Thad is a decent player, just not for our roster. At this point in the teams development he is nothing beyond a placeholder.

I don't have to get used to anything. He is bad news, feel bad for those that can't see it.

I'm not being sensitive, though. I just get tired of reading the same stuff. Acting like that Miami pick would produce a better player than Young is silly to me.

Can we all please remember that the guy's 26-years old? Barring a nasty contract dispute next summer, why can't he be a part of the rebuild/re-tool? He's been vocal about wanting to be with the team while it grows. And while he may be a placeholder right now, he would be such a weapon off the bench at SF/PF if we had Towns or someone like that starting at PF.

My thing is: don't give away good players. It's pointless.

You don't have to do anything. I am just looking out for your wellbeing.
