Wolves vs Lakers GDT: Wiggins and Lavine progress
They have both scored 20+ points the past 2 games, hoping to see it continue. I am on the side that prefers losses to tank at this point of the season UNLESS the game is won on the back of one of our rookies so when 2 contribute that is great to see.

The Lakers are coming off of a shootout with OKC last night. None of their guys played a ridiculous amount of minutes. They "only" have 4 guys on their injury report.
Does anyone know the status of AB or Robbie? I think it's ridiculous that these guys are still recovering from injuries that were originally projected to be just a few weeks.
Flip got all hot and bothered by Matt Harpring insinuating that the Wolves were tanking, but what does he expect when as the season winds down we suddenly have guys going down left and right with various ailments and "soreness" issues? And isn't it funny that it's mostly the vets?
The thing is that Flip the Coach can legitimately say his guys are fighting and playing hard. That I agree with.
As for Flip the POBO, as Terry Boers of Chicago sports radio would say, "Who ya crappin'!?"

Harper mentioned on his podcast the other day that Robbie is done for the year. I don't remember seeing that from the organization but I'll take his word for it.

The TOM has the Wolves and Lakers tied with 20 projected wins, with the Wolves projected to win tonight. While I understand Drew and Cool's premise that wins are important, I have to admit I will not be disappointed with a close loss...it would put us two projected wins behind the Lakers.
Q, I joke on this board about the Wolves being in tank mode, but I'm more and more convinced the injuries are legit. I realized how much Flip wanted to win when he played Martin 38 minutes last week when KMart was nursing a sore hamstring. The only injury that raises my eyebrows is KG's, but that one may be legit too.
AB was originally listed as questionable for Monday's game, so he has to be getting close. I wouldn't be surprised if he plays this weekend in New Orleans and Houston. Hamilton is cleared to play tonight, so thankfully his concussion symptoms have disappeared. Now we get to see if Bud can play well at his natural SF position after his surprising success at PF. KMart is questionable, but I think he will play if Neal can't. No word yet on KG or Rubio...both listed as doubtful, so I'm guessing no go.
Wolves favored by only one, and I think they should be able to beat a tired Laker team. But as I said, a loss won't put me out on the ledge.

Yeah this AB thing is vexing. Did flip guarantee him a roster spot next year or is it a player option?

What happened to KG's mystical mentoring? I thought he was going to help us win sooo many games the rest of the season? We night need to revisit that trade thread. Let's stop by the Payne trade thread too. Make it a vacation of shitty moves.

I don't recall anyone saying he would help us win a lot more the rest of the season (granted it hurts win chances with him on the bench). My opinion hasn't changed about the trade. Sucks he's been hurt, but maybe it's for the best (lotto balls). Way too early to judge the Payne trade too. No point even talking about it until at least next season.

Does anybody get the feeling that LaVine has more potential, or at least will be better long-term, than Wiggins?
I think he'll be a stud in 2-3 years. He has the aggressive mentality/killer instinct that Wiggins lacks, with the same athletic attributes.

I think they have similar ceiling potential, but that Wiggins has a higher floor.

Can't argue with that. I am very impressed how LaVine has been in attack mode lately. It's a very uplifting sign.
