Historically 1st overall pick centers that don't win the tip off of their first games never make an all-star game and are out of the league is 5.69 seasons. We should know right away what we have with Towns.

No we don't have a quota on how many thread we can have and we need to make sure we have meaningful titles.

.....IIRC Towns won every tip-off in the pre-season. Good sign!

(by the way, that's another thing that irritated me about Dieng last year. He never won a tip-off. Not that it matters that much. Just annoying).

I concur that whether Karl wins the opening tap will be definitive proof of how Karl's career is going to go, and probably how the Wolves are going to do this season. This topic probably needs its own thread, but I'll just weigh in here. There are offsetting variables. Hibbert has two inches of height advantage and several years of tip-off experience on Karl, but as Q pointed out, KAT had a breakout preseason in winning the opening tap. I haven't seen the Vegas line, so I'll set one here. Pick 'em.
