Say Las Vegas:

Personally, I think might be ambitious. Might have to put some money down on the under....

The links I put in the win prediction thread both had the over/under on the Wolves at 25.5

I think 28 is fair, i would also say that Vegas is not counting Bjelica in at all even though the guy is looking legit. He was like no.400 player by ESPN right. For 28 wins we need to go around .500 vs east and .500 vs bad western teams.

It should be no coincidence that if you average what Abe and I predicted, you come up with this number!

Yeah, it's really tough seeing us approach 30 wins. I'll be glad with mid to high 20s assuming Wiggins and Towns show us something. If we go sub-20 it means we were either wrecked by injuries again and/or the youngsters didn't progress as we hoped.

Hmmm. I didn't dig through that thread. But it sounds like the line is moving towards more wins. Must be the excellent preseason! :-)

CARMELO has us at 29 wins. Here's their advanced metric profiles on a good chunk of the team: http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/nba-minnesota-timberwolves-preview/.

I agree. 28 or the 29 Khans posted from another link should be achievable. The "X Factor" for me is not knowing if they will be packing it in at some point like they did last year or if they will be trying to win games the entire season.

Exactly Carlos. How often have we said things like, "I'm fine with not winning a lot of game so long as we show improvement throughout the year", only to completely crater in the end (intentionally or not). I can see all sorts of mysterious ailments and injuries popping up with guys mailing it in defensively with ~ 20-30 games left. I frankly HATE that approach even though I know full well it helped us get Towns. I just think it's a total losers' mentality and it's what has contributed to the losing culture of this franchise for the past 10+ years.

Yep. I realize this makes me a hypocrite, but I was okay with packing it in last year after all the injuries hit. But I feel last year was an anomaly for me. Normally, I'm like you in that I'm okay with having a bad year - just play hard and make some improvement as the year goes on. But that's where I think it will be interesting with Sam as coach. I know Monster disagrees with me, but I feel Sam will be driven to win more than Flip because Sam is still building a coaching resume. It would be a feather in his cap to write "doubled the win total of Timberwolves year over year".

Well I will say that Kevin Martin gutted out a few games at the end of last year.
