Jalen Rose mentioned on his podcast that Fred Hoilberg might go to the Bulls or Wolves.

That would be great. A young up and coming team to pair with a young up and coming coach.

This, of course, assumes we don't give in to the dark side... Sam Mitchell (which I do not have a HUGE problem with). Given a choice between Flip or Sam, I go with Green Eggs and Ham!

Hoiberg makes me nervous. Are we getting Jason Kidd, or Brian Shaw? Are we getting Jeff Hornacek, or Jacque Vaughn?

who is the coach currently travelling with the Wolves? Is this an extended ineterview? Sam Mitchell would be the same old shit.

A coach who just lost to a #14 seed? No way. Pass.
I'd rather have Sidney Lowe.

OK, that's a bit harsh. But I just wanted an excuse to discuss the worst basketball head coach in HISTORY?

Lowe won less than 26% of his games in the NBA. That's terrible. But it's his college resume that puts him at the top. Consider...

- NCSU had made the NCAA tournament 5 straight years (winning at least one game there 4 times) before Lowe arrived.
- NCSU didn't make the NCAA tournament for 5 seasons under Lowe. Not even close once.
- Under Lowe, NCSU never finished higher than 9th in the ACC.
- Since Lowe was fired... NCSU has made the NCAA tournament all 4 seasons (winning at least one game there 3 times.)

Is there any other coach with THAT POOR of a track record in both the NBA and NCAA? I can't think of one.

[note: still have my doubts about hoiberg coming here. but i hope it happens for the wolves. i think he'll be a solid nba coach.]

Flip has invited Mike Malone to travel with the team on two road trips, so I suggested it might be an extended interview. I think it was abe, though, who offered a good explanation. He reminded us that Doc Rivers did the same thing with Flip after he was fired from the Wizards...said he wanted him with the team during the playoffs because of his relationship with KG. Flip is likely just doing the same nice thing for a friend that Doc did for him...more likely than my extended interview theory.

Flip seems to be doing a lot of nice things for his friends and players. Bringing along Malone, giving away Brewer and Mo Williams, sounds like another friend (Mitchell) is in line for a coaching job.

Wouldn't the best solution be for Hoiberg to go to Bulls, and Thibs come to MN? I would imagine this would be our best-case scenario.

Well, we have no playoffs to shoot for and Flip is actively tanking with all of these guys that have an owie or the sniffles.

Seems like the Country Club is trying to get themselves comfortable with Malone.
