Top 6 draft projections
Top 6 draft projections
There are a lot of mock drafts, but predicting all 60 picks is well beyond anyone's ability. Even predicting the 30 1st round picks gets almost silly after the first 10 or even the first 5. So I thought I'd start a thread for predicting the top six in both rounds. I'll start it off with my top 6 1st round predictions:
1. Wolves: Towns
2. Lakers: Okafor
3. Sixers: Russell
4. Knicks. Winslow
5. Magic: Porzingis
6. Kings: Mudiay
1. Wolves: Towns
2. Lakers: Okafor

4. Knicks. Winslow
5. Magic: Porzingis
6. Kings: Mudiay

I like your list, Lip. But the Lakers could really throw things in a tizzy if they pick Russell!

Re: Top 6 draft projections
Wolves-Towns: Isn't it great when BPA is also the guy who fits best? Wolves fans are really going to enjoy this guy.
Lakers-Okafor: Whether he stays in LA or goes to Sacramento, he's the logical pick at 2. Wonderful combination of footwork, deft moves, huge hands and great passing vision. Now, if only he could make his free throws and improve on defense...
Philly-Russell: They need a PG to get the ball to their big men, and they won't spend much time deciding on Russell over Mudiay. He has the potential to be something special. Don't forget that Saric is still stashed over in Turkey, and could be their SF in 2016-7. Noel, Embiid and Saric could be a terrific front line playing with Russell.
Knicks-Porzingis: This pick could very well be traded, but if they keep it, it will be Porzingis. He blew everyone away in Vegas at his workouts with his ability to shoot and handle the ball, and he has been a terrific shot blocker in Europe. Anthony and Porzingis will be a difficult forward tandem to defend, and will create the best outside shooting frontcourt in the NBA when combined with Bargnani. Knicks fans won't like the pick because they love the three guys going before them, but it will work out for them.
Orlando-Mudiay: The Magic need an upgrade at PG, and even though he is somewhat of a mystery, Mudiay is the only option. I honestly don't know enough about him to evaluate him, but experts smarter than me say he has huge potential.
Kings-Hezonja: The Kings stockpile SGs like Flip stockpiles PFs, and they will draft a SG for the third year in a row. But will it be Winslow or Hezonja? I think Karl wants the safe pick (Winslow) and Divac wants the home run (Hezonja), and Vlade is running the show. Cousins/Hezonja would be a difficult pairing to love (if the Laker deal doesn't happen).
(Looking back at previous posts in this thread, I see that I have plagiarized someone else's top 6...kudos to carlos danger!)

Would someone explain why the magic would take Mudiay? Payton just made all rookie 1st team

Yeah, I thought about that too, volans, but I can't believe the Magic are happy with Payton's shooting. I recognize that Mudiay isn't known as a great shooter either, but you can't have your PG shooting 26% on threes and 55% from the line.

Great minds think alike! HA! Seriously - I didn't look at other teams needs - so mine was just based on the hype I'm seeing/reading about each player rising/falling. Who the heck knows what will happen. I'm just glad draft day if finally here.
Re: Top 6 draft projections
1. Wolves -Towns - it pains me but not really that much - go wolves
2. LA - Okafor
3. Philly - Russel
4. NY - Mudiay - I don't see how Jackson would take Porzingis. I think Mudiay makes more sense for the triangle
5. Orlando - Porzingis
6. Kings - Hezonja - Vlade makes peace in the Balkans - Plus Winslow refused to work out for the kings.

It's probably a bit late to hope TheSP goes top 6?
