Rubio / Houston

Chatter on Twitter about Houston targeting Rubio. What do they reasonably have to offer for a healthy Rubio?

The chatter is silly. Flip isn't going to trade Rubio.

Yeah I highly doubt Rubio would ever be traded, especially to Houston. Not sure would even be a good fit in their system.

Rubio for McHale? Then the circle would be complete. haha.

I'd like Rubio to stick around another year. I'd like to know just what type of player he can be... we STILL don't know yet, do we?

Morey is a big Rubio guy and, along with Cuban and Donnie Nelson, are known to repeatedly check in on his availability. Neither team is a match for a worthwhile trade though.

The latest rumor has Rubio getting traded to the Lakers for future considerations in a salary dump.

I read it http://minnesotasports.enjin.com/forum/m/15059925/viewthread/22975661-rubio-houstonhere on the internet so it must be true , right?

I don't think we do. Hopefully that clarity can come this year.

What do they have to offer of value? Jones and Dekker? Is that enough for you guys? I think I would want more.

I feel like we know what we have: Rubio is an elite passer and defender that struggles to shoot and finish, but is active enough to draw a decent amount of foul shots, which he makes. He has proven that when surrounded by solid offensive weapons, he can quarterback an elite offense. Defensively, he is one of the most disruptive players in the league that isn't a Center.

That's what he is....and even some incremental improvement in his shot won't take away from the essence of what he brings to the table.

Well, we know he's a gifted passer, disruptive defender and historically awful shooter.

But how does that impact everybody else? Is it enough for a good team? We know he makes a difference when he's on the court with bad players. But we also know that Adelman didn't trust him down the stretch with decent to good players in a season when the Wolves lost a disproportionate amount of close games.

Is he simply one of the more unique players in the game that will never move beyond being a decent starting PG... but not close to elite?
