Non Love moves to make this summer
Pek and Martin to Cleveland for Waiters Bennett and Varejao
This would of course be if we don't trade them Love, but I think Pek would work nicely next to Thompson and I think Waiters and Kyrie need to be broken up.

Pek and Martin to NO
Eric Gordon to CHI
Boozer Mirotic Future NO pick and 16 to MN
Again this is if we don't trade Love to CHI, but CHI needs a SG, Pek would be great next to Anthony Davis and Martin fills the hole left by Gordon. MN gets picks, a potential Dirk(?) and an expiring in Boozer

We do this... to help OKC as much as possible?

1. Dump long term salary
2. Get Lamb, who has potential
3. Get another pick to trade up or draft a stash (Nurkic)
4. I would only do this if we traded Love to Boston or Sac, to bottom out and build for the future.

I respect that you had an answer, but I don't think this is a trade we should do (if we trade Love to Boston).
With Love gone, I'm fine with Pekovic making $12M while being an offensive weapon for Rubio (and keeping him happy). Not to mention allowing Dieng the comfort level of coming along slowly without being put in a tough situation. We're gonna need points and rebounds at some point. Pek can stay.
I was a huge Lamb fan when he came out of UCONN. Unfortunately, he hasn't been what I thought he'd be. It looks foolish now, but I thought he had a legit bid to be ROY when he was in Houston (previous to being traded before he played a game for them). He's got two years left and he's right there with Barnes, in my opinion, as being meh.
Low first rounder. We could probably buy one if we wanted it that badly. Yes, I know that's not Glen Taylor's style. Hell, if we got that 21st pick I could see Glen Taylor being the one that sold that pick to the Knicks for Phil Jackson.

If we don't get a 4 who can protect the rim in any capacity to play next to Pek, I would like to see him moved. Pek just doesn't do the one thing Centers are expected to be able to do on good teams in protecting the rim. You can always find points in gunners and Dieng is already a much better rebounder than Pek. Pek just doesn't work without a rim protector next to him hence giving up the worst FG% at the rim in the league. Maybe Philly would do a Pek and 13 for Thad and 10 swap. They have Noel to protect the rim next to him and Noel won't be strong enough to be able to guard 5's for probably the length of Pek's contract. This would really come down to if Philly would take Embiid or not at 3 because then it is a moot point. 10 puts us in ideal position to get Gary Harris who is a guy I think would be a great fit next to Ricky. He has some handles, defends well and is a pretty good shooter. Ricky/Harris/Bazz/Thad/Dieng. Thad gives Ricky the athletic running mate everyone is looking for and Bazz becomes the volume scorer he is to see if he can do anything with significant minutes.

Re: Non Love moves to make this summer
Dieng is not a better rebounder than Pekovic. That's from my point of view and "eye test" so to speak. Here's a good clip of an article from Canis Hoopus talking about Dieng and what he brought last year.
"We can see from Dieng's on/off that the Wolves were a somewhat worse rebounding team with him on the court when considering all of his minutes (48.9% total rebounding on court, 50.7% total rebounding off). But the difference pales in comparison to the difference when he is swapped in the starting lineup with Pekovic. Pekovic has a much bigger positive effect on the team's rebounding numbers over all minutes and lineups than Dieng has a negative effect. This leads me to believe that the rebounding difference in the lineup is more about Pekovic's positive impact on team rebounding than on a diminution in effort during the minutes that Dieng was playing with the other four starters."

Really good article if you have the time.

Re: Non Love moves to make this summer
Here's the problem with that article. Dieng averaged 12 RPG's in the 15 games he started this year to Pek's 8.7 while averaging more offensive and defensive rebounds per game. I don't see how evaluating the team's total rebounding percentage is an effective way to see how one guy is a better rebounder than the other considering the stats the writer uses contains the whole team. There are constantly different circumstances for why some lineups rebound better than others. From the eye test of the box score, Dieng had a couple games with close to 20 boards that Pek never gets close to and the stats flat out say when Dieng started, he got 3.3 more RPG's than Pek did in the same starting position. This is an individual comparison, so adding in team circumstances is like saying a bench player is better than a starter because his +/- is better. It makes no sense when there is literally a stat that says Dieng got more rebounds in basically the same role as Pek (Dieng averaged 2 MPG's more than Pek in that role, but that is not enough to make up for 3+ rebounds).

And yet Pekovic's presence was better for the team's rebounding ability, which is all that matters. Who helps the team get more boards: Pek or Dieng. You're also giving Dieng credit as a better rebounder based off a 15 game sample. You can call G a good rebounder and I'll agree with you. Can't agree that he's better on the glass than Pek yet. Nope.
