Seth Curry
Would you be in favor of signing this guy to a guaranteed contract? He's probably the Summer League MVP and was the D-League MVP. There are roster guys who literally have one talent like shooting 3s ala Damjan Rudez and Novak. Curry probably has a more versatile game (at least against SL/DL talent) than either Rudez or Novak, scoring a bunch, shooting from the perimeter and going to the hole, also collecting steals, assists and rebounds . From what I've heard I think there are probably 3 to 5 teams that may pursue him including the Pelicans for whom he played. We need 3s and he's probably one of the best cheap free agents for that.

Re: Seth Curry
I was calling his name last season, talent is there and its not like it cost draft picks or all that much money to see how it develops in MN's system.

Yeah, we got 3 roster spots to fill after you count Rubio, Jones, Lavine, Martin, Wiggins, Bazz, KG, Towns, Pek, Dieng, Payne and Bjelica. He's as good a flyer prospect as you'll find for a 13th to 15th roster guy.

You forgot AB and the guy we got in the Bud trade. There's 1 roster spot open at this point.

I would take him over Brown.

Re: Seth Curry
I hope Flip is not considering Curry. He's really not a PG, more of an undersized SG...averaged less than 3 assists per game his last year at Duke. And with his below average size and athleticism, he's also not a very good defender. A great shooter to be sure, but reminds me too much of Brady Heslip...great college and D League shooter, but not big or athletic enough to play SG at the next level.

Re: Seth Curry
Should have just kept the 2nds and drafted Joseph Young. He is the perfect change of pace behind Rubio and ready to play if needed. Super athletic and a good shooter. Pacers had a great draft.
Re: Seth Curry
Flip should only want Curry if he is interested in shooting. So no.

There's a HUGE difference though between a tweener guard like Curry and those guys and others like Matt Bonner.
What makes them effective is that they are being guarded by bigs who are less comfortable closing out on shooters. In fact, Novak has been less effective since more teams are going small, thus putting a smaller, more active "big" on him.
Those guys are out there for spacing so there's more room for others. Moving a big outside the paint is great. But keeping a guard outside the paint to watch Curry? Meh. Nothing really changes.

I didn't forget about them. I don't think either is a lock to make our final roster and I hope we can do better than AB and Rudez. I even like LoBrown's chances over those two unless we sign a veteran point guard. Rudez is old and he's a one trick pony and AB is just bad on both sides of the ball, plus he has a bad contract. Curry is younger and has a more diverse game--even if he is used as a spot 3 point specialist.
