Re: Rookie Nicknames
LaVine Nicknames
- "Fuck me."
- U-NO: Since his go-to phrase during interviews is "you know", and he uses it way too often. Also, when he throws down a big time dunk, the crowd could all yell, "YOU KNOW!"
- Thin Minn: A play on the famous girlscout cookies, "Thin Mints." He's thin and wiry right now at only 180 pounds. Minn is pretty obvious.
- Mr. Veenay!: Anybody that enjoyed Boy Meets World will appreciate this. Mr. Feeney was the well-loved old man/principal/teacher/friend/mentor on the show. Eric Matthews would always yell his name in different ways. "Mr. Feeney! Mr. Fe-he-he-heenay!"
- Young Sota : I'm stretching here, but his nickname at UCLA was Young Hollywood. Maybe we find a way to incorporate Minnesota in there.
- Zachardi: Meshing his first name "Zach" and the popular rum brand name Bacardi. I don't know LaVine, but he has a party type look to him. Would be cool if he landed a marketing deal because of it.
- "V": My last idea. Short and simple. Kinda playing on Carlos Zambrano and ?ydr?nas Ilgauskas' nickname of "Big Z." Not the most creative, but oh well.
I'm out of ideas. Maybe his play on the court during Summer League will bring one out naturally.
