I hope we do ot do teh GS deal

This article is pre-draft, therefore dated, but it makes a good point. Klay Thompson is pretty good, but he isn't taking us to the playoffs if Love couldn't.. I wish to hell we had traded for picks.
We are going to have to rebuild, whether we want to admit it or not.
Someone on this board said we are not going to the playoffs next year, with or without Love.
Bringing in Klay Thompson is like Addleman bringing in Bud. Not a difference maker

Apologies for the headline - I meant to say "I hope we don't do the GS deal"

You know, you can click the "edit" icon at the bottom of the message and fix the title...

unless you didn't bother to check the headline. I checked the body, not the headline. Live and learn.

I'd still do the deal because Klay is, at the very least, a valuable asset. If and when LaVine becomes a star, the Wolves will have Klay who could potentially be moved for a different piece. And that is if the team isn't doing well anyway. Having Klay and LaVine on each side of Ricky can be an awesome wing trio. Then again, I'm bullish on the teams chances of improving with a GS trade.

Re: I hope we do ot do teh GS deal
After initially being repulsed at the thought of a deal centered around Chandler Parsons, I'm starting to come around to the idea. Assuming we could sign him to a good contract (not a Max ie. Klay) I think that he could be a great piece of the puzzle to putting together a good team that can grow together. Parsons, T. Jones, Lin, with the possibilities of Clint Copella, NO's pick, and Houston future picks (albeit they will be late 1sts) could be a quite a haul for Kevin considering our other options.
Lin is a huge expiring contract, but in the meantime would fill our backup PG role
Parsons locks down our SF position for the foreseeable future (10 mil per)
Jones takes over the starting PF role on a rookie contract + room to grow
future picks & prospects
thoughts?
It would work great if we could do this with the NO Gordon for Martin + Bud trade

I like a trade with the Rockets. Parsons, T. Jones, Coppella, Beverly, and filler would be a good haul.

Re: I hope we do ot do teh GS deal
In the absence of getting Wiggins from Cleveland, I absolutely hope we trade for Klay. Klay is nothing like adding Bud. Bud can be a solid offensive player, but Klay is good on both ends of the floor, and better than Bud on both ends of the floor. Lee is a solid PF so it's not like we're falling flat at PF with the loss of Love in that scenario either. If we get Klay, we STILL have 2 positions on lockdown. Is Klay as good as KLove? No, but he's probably more likely to be a fit with a championship contender due to his defense (rip away).
I have no interest in Parsons in a S&T. I like Parsons, but if we're trading Love, I'd rather get slightly less and trade him to the East than create a powerhouse in Houston and come up with a player we could get in FA anyway.

Parsons > Thompson
What Houston can offer is better than what Golden State can. I still think we keep Love, though.
I'm more interested in this Eric Gordon idea floating around. Acquiring him makes things even more interesting.

Ironic that we could be trading our superstar for a player we drafted and sold. For all those that are fine with selling 2nd rounders, this is some shit for you to laugh at. Could have, should have had both of them.
