Cam Reynolds Waived
Cam Reynolds Waived
Im a little sad, but it clears just a little bit more cap space.
Think Cam will make it in this League because he can hit 3s

Lame, there had better be aome big name players on the way
Re: Cam Reynolds Waived
I suspect one of two things happened: Cam requested to be waived, or the Wolves knew they wouldn't retain him and are doing him a favor by letting him hit free agency right away.
I guess he won't be on our summer league team?

`Must have been a favor to Cam. Otherwise, it's a nonevent. He only added $1.4 million to the payroll and I believe some if not all of it was non-guaranteed.

It sounds like the dates were a month away before we owed him anything so it's a bit strange to do it now u less there was some reason a favor or some possible deal coming.
I have a completely irrational affinity for Cam Reynolds. He seems to be in theory the type of guy this team should be looking to add on the margins. We found this guy he seemed to look worthwhile and we signed him to a cheap deal and...then we let him go. These are the types of moves (letting guys go like this) that always makes me wonder what other teams are thinking. Of course a high percentage of those guys end up being nothing. It makes me think something is up...but I think that for other teams and most of the time it means nothing. I suppose there will be plenty more Cam Reynolds types out there and maybe he even comes back...but for now it was a good run Cam.

Makes no sense.
Maybe to clear a roster spot? Maybe we take back multiple players in a teague, dieng, or wiggins deal.

Re: Cam Reynolds Waived
His only chance here was a plague of injuries to open up playing time for him. Why do you guys care so much about such inconsequential pieces making the minimum? Has any of them ever made a lasting impact on our team in the last decade where they all had ample opportunity to earn rotation time on shitty teams? We need to get the guys who will actually play sorted first before we start worrying about the guys who spend more time in suits than jerseys.

The reason I care is he was one of the few players that had high 3pt potential.
His contract with Teague and KBD makes the money we need to sign and trade for Russell.
Now that contract is not here anymore to make the trade

One of the most valuable players currently on the roster is Robert Covington. Was Fred Van Vliet inconsequential? Delly? Quinn Cook? Most guys like Cam Reynolds don't make it but saying we shouldn't worry about guys like him making the minimum seems like too broad of a brush to me. This is a new group and we have a developmental league going on it's 3rd year we should expect to find a worthwhile undrafted/2nd round guy someone else cut loose. That matters.
