I don't see how the Wolves win less than 40 games
-KAT continues to progress into a clear top 10 player
-Wiggins harnessing the power of positivity channeled by Ryan Saunders and making the leap into a semi-efficient player
-Rosas implementing a modern offense and the spacing subsequently putting a glaring lens on Towns being the most dominant Center since Shaq
-Jarrett "mini Lebron" Culver bursting onto the scene with his playmaking abilities on full display
-Covington returning to full strength and continuing his defensive player of the year play
-Teague being forced to pass instead of dribbling the air out of the ball
There are just to many areas of strength to not be above .500, the only question is whether we'll be competing for home court in the 1st round.

Re: I don't see how the Wolves win less than 40 games
I do understand the trepidation of the upcoming season, like all others we certainly feel like a feeder team. We have been beaten into thinking we cant have a winning team - its always something. Marbury mental issues, secret deals, Stars wanting to go somewhere else, Butler..., and horrid drafting.
We won 36 games last year despite tanking the last part
We have what appears to be a real GM from a winning program that has rehauled the entire team's front office top to bottom (everyone over there keeps saying changing the culture - but they all say that)
Based on the summer league - our "offensive coordinator" (their words) used a ball movement, 3p focused offense that is not like any of the crap we have seen before.
We have no clue what our "defensive coordinator" is going to implement - it can't get worse, can it? So no matter what we should improve (the incoming vs outgoing Draymond and dRPM favor the incoming players over who we let go)
We do have what looks to be a modern-era center that plays offense at an all-star level
Covington is back
Wiggins and Okogie cant regress can they?
Culver has potential
I am not sure why we can't match last years win total at a minimum - we won't lose a bunch of games due to hurt feelings and a confused lockerroom.

Re: I don't see how the Wolves win less than 40 games
I'm going off Lip in the upcoming season thread.
1. We lost some very solid role players and replaced them with young unproven ones. Taj, rose, Dario, Deng and Jones all played a mostly positive role on the team last year. I don't blame the wolves for not paying these guys but their loss should be felt.
2. We acquired 0 off the dribble guys. Rose was one of the few guys that could create his own shot and now we don't have any guys who are good at this.
3. Cov and Teague coming off injury. Cov might not be ready by training camp (Rosas words)
4. Unproven head coach, who did worse statistically than one of the most hated coaches in wolves history.
5. Okogie in summer league didn't show a go to scorer ability. Now I think he will be better with better players around him because he can focus on cutting that he is good at but if his 3 pt shooting dosen't improve he is virtually unplayable in today's nba.
6. One injury away from KAT or Teague and it's going to be a long season.
7. Majority of the west is better on paper than us.
Now we could be better than we expect if.
1. New system makes sum of our parts better than the individual talents especially on defense.
2. Wiggins figures it out, hahaha
3. Kat plays at MVP level.
4. Unexpected jump from okogie, kbd or the 3 rookies.
5. This roster adds a star during the season. We still have some assets in Teague expiring, Cov, okogie and Culver and every 1st going forward

I can't tell if the OP is satire or not.

To me the improvement from Okogie can be pretty big on the defensive end of the ball. He showed promise on that end but I don't think statistically a few advanced stats say he was a positive. If he makes a jump to actually being a positive defender that will be pretty significant especially since last year he did actually play quite a few minutes.
It think people forget how bad the PG play was last year with all the injuries. Teague has his worst season every and played like 40 games. Tyus was meh. Rose played a lot of SG when he did play. Bayless was mostly horrendous statistically. If Teague bounces back and even plays 70 games you have a legit middle of the road starting PG that's not a small thing.
Rose's shot creation will be missed but his defensive impact is up for debate. Meanwhile the Wolves are likely to have someone bigger in his spot and probably a better defender even if it's Culver a rookie.
What's the over under on how many points Wiggins is gonna average this season? This team is pretty devoid of volume scorers beyond Towns, Wiggins and maybe Teague? I'd guess Wiggins easily tops 20ppg and his efficiency and whether that helps the team win will be questioned (and to some extent fairly so) but I think he is gonna put up some big numbers there which...COULD even raise his value SOME.
Re: I don't see how the Wolves win less than 40 games
Fun stats
Josh Okogie played the 3rd most minutes of any Wolves players last season and they still managed to win 36 games.
Okogie .492 was 17th out of 21 players on the Wolves in terms of true shooting percentage just a hair worse than Wiggins .493 and a hair better than Tyus Jones .491 who was ahead of KBD and the bottom was filled out with the Bayless and Terrell. Let some of those numbers sink in for a minute. Just to compare how bad that is Napier has only had one season in his career with a worse TS% at .460 his 2nd year and he is has been easily over .500 every other year.
