Obviously it is training camp deal but that will make the Iowa wolves more interesting

That should sell a few tickets for the Iowa Wolves. Basketball wise he is a pretty good player for an affiliate G-league player with the Iowa Wolves. He is an interesting player with I think some potential to make it at the next level.

I like it. Connelly keeps surprising me. At first I sometimes scratch my head, but the more I reflect the more I see the sense in the moves he makes. This move surprises me, but it's not a head scratcher. It's a smart move to get him into our system because I think he's an NBA caliber player.

I like it because I think he could be our new cheap Naz Ried after this year. Solid signing and could possibly be a long term piece

Luka Garza is worth a flyer. Solid offensive upside and intriguing skill set as a 6'10 big with shooting range. Unfortunately, he can't defend NBA athletes and I don't think that's changed. Hard to see him contributing anything in Minnesota either now or in the future. I like the signing, though. This front office is going to have to be creative when adding young talent and that means actually bringing in guys to get a closer look.

It will be interesting to see what role he plays for Iowa. I mean that more as what the organization might be looking to do at the 4 and the 5 than what we can envision for Garza at the next level. It will also be interesting what they do at PG for that squad too. I really don't think Moore is gonna end up playing that many games in Iowa.

I mostly agree with your assessment of Luka but I will say if he can score and rebound (some of that translated to some extent last year with Detroit) while giving max effort sometimes a guy like that with some girth could come in handy at the end of the bench. It's still unlikely but he did something last year at the NBA level even if it was on a bad team.

To be clear I'm really not expecting anything. I would not be surprised if he played well and some team signed him for some 10 day contracts etc though. That's good too. Anytime you bring in guys to Iowa and they have any kind of NBA success that looks good to prospective players and maybe just as importantly...agents.

Wolves sign Garza to a 2-way. Not sure who lost their spot

Shams: The Minnesota Timberwolves are signing center Luka Garza to a two-way NBA contract, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Garza had a strong preseason, averaging 7.3 points on 66.7 percent from 3-point land.

Love to see it. A lot of us here thought Garza earned that contract this preseason. Nice to see that he was actually rewarded for his play. I hope Eric Paschall is waived as the corresponding move.

Jon Krawczynski says that Luka Garza will take A.J. Lawson's two-way slot.

I hope Eric Paschall isn't off the hot seat yet... There are better options available.
