Espn is doing their top 100 again, and they dropped players 100-26 today. The cool part about this Is Edwards, Towns, and Gobert weren't listed today. This means all 3 are in the top 25 to be unveiled throughout the week. Having 3 of the top 25 certainly means you have enough talent to contend. Here is today's article:

NBA Player Ranks
Re: NBA Player Ranks
That is really exciting! I certainly expected Towns and Gobert to be top 25, but I didn't know if they would include Ant. I don't think any other team is going to have three players in the top 25...Golden State for instance will only have Curry, because Wig, Klay and Green are all listed already (Wig at 33!).
Nobody here is going to like Jaden not being in the top 100 (I think he will be next year), but I think most of us are comfortable with DLo at 93. Thanks for posting, Cool.

Yeah, I thought about Jaden and this list. I'm not surprised he didn't make it this year, but man, if he can make it by next year this team could be insane. So many good story lines to unfold over the next several weeks.

Re: NBA Player Ranks
I'm glad the Timberwolves' trio is getting some love from the national media even though I think Anthony Edwards is probably slightly overrated right now. I also think some rankings on this list are silly. Andrew Wiggins being ranked higher than Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, for example. Also, Jordan Clarkson, Jordan Poole, Spencer Dinwiddie, Russell Westbrook, Kyle Lowry, and a few other guards being ranked higher than D'Angelo Russell is laughable, especially after the team just acquired an elite screener/roller for him in Rudy Gobert. His place at 93 underscores what I already knew. He's become severely underrated.
Although it doesn't matter, I'll be curious to see which of Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns are ranked higher. I tend to believe Towns should be given his elite scoring ability and development on the defensive end, as well as him taking Third-Team All-NBA, but I could see Gobert's team-altering presence getting some love as well.

Speaking of DLO, I did a little digging and found a couple of nuggets. DLO currently has the 33rd highest salary in the league. The #93 salary in the league makes about half of what DLO makes, between $15-$16 million. That's a big gap to bridge when you sit down to negotiate an extension.

I agree that the Ant rating has a strong dose of projection to it. He was not a top 25 player last season, that's for sure.

Yep, some good story lines unfolding as the season approaches. Edwards isn't a top 25 player yet, but he clearly can become one based on his talent and skill set. McDaniels isn't a top 100 player, but he he can clearly become a top 100 or even a top 50 based on his talent and skills. In my view, DLO's talent and skills deserve a ranking higher than #90, but we'll see. He needs to stay healthy and develop a level of consistency we haven't seen from him yet in his career.
We talk a lot about the addition of Gobert and how well the Gobert-KAT tandem will work. That's not surprising since they're our two highest-paid players. But I continue to believe the most important key to this season and beyond for the Wolves will be the Edwards-McDaniels tandem - i.e., the speed and extent of their progression towards their potential.

I'll go with
Ant 24
KAT 16
Gobert 12
And can anyone name another team in the association with three top 25 players?

Again, I'll argue that Ant was not and may still not be a top 25 player this season, so let's not allow these rankings to be the definitive judge and jury and state it as a foregone conclusion. I also find this very hard to reconcile with ESPN's Power Rankings, which had the Wolves at #12 in the NBA. So we have three top 25 players, yet are barely above league average as a team??? Mmmmmm.
