That was the guy Rosas wanted. I guess we now know hiring Ryan was out of his control from day one.

Well... duh. I guess this will serve as confirmation, though.

DLO, Rubio, and now Chris Finch. Rosas always eventually gets his guy! Let's hope Finch works out better than the other two have.

Real ones knew. What's weird is that Rosas quit a better job in Dallas because he didn't wanna get overruled when it came to control and he willingly let it happen for the least attractive job in basketball. These are the kind of things that shoulda been hashed out during the interview process.

Damian Lillard seems confused by Minnesota's decision to hire Chris Finch over David Vanterpool.

@Dame_Lillard: How the hell do you not hire David Vanterpool and he's right there on the bench... and has been in front office SUCCESSFULLY and on the front of a bench of a winning team SUCCESSFULLY (7 years) ... and also has played a major role in the development of a dominant backcourt smdh!

The Athletic's Sam Vecenie (@Sam_Vecenie):

No disrespect to the Wolves' players, but it was becoming almost an auto-bet against them every night over the last couple of weeks because I had zero faith that what the staff was doing was actualizing the roster, and the in-game adjustments just weren't happening.

On how Chris Finch getting the job can get done so quickly:

-Interviewed for the head job back in 2019 when Saunders got it
-He and Rosas go back a long ways. Finch was the Rio Grande Valley coach, then a HOU assistant when Rosas was in Houston (they were together from 2009-16)

Think this is about as interesting a hire as Minnesota could have made. Finch's time in Denver coincided with (and played a significant role in) Nikola Jokic's breakout. If anyone is going to actualize Karl-Anthony Towns, Finch is about as good a bet as any.

What does success for Finch look like at his point? Towns in the MIP conversation?

I have to believe anyone who can't shoot the 3 is going to be leaving. Okogie will not play anymore. Culver will probably be traded. Rubio's minutes will be limited. These will all be good developments. But the Houston replica will fail eventually.
