Boy... was I a stupid $#%*@#

Post by AbeVigodaLive »

Most people here are pretty sharp basketball minds. (Some more than others.) But we all have our great moments that we tend to rehash quite a bit. Unfortunately, we're all idiots, too. Being a sports fan is about being invested in a team -- both good and bad.

And being right or wrong with our takes. We've all been wrong. Very, very, very wrong at times. Let's celebrate those moments as we unite as one as some of the most diehard, loyal fans of the worst franchise in NBA history!

What is your worst prediction/sticking point that turned out tragic?

I'm sure there are others from me, with even more glowing praise for the guy. But I included this one because it was easy to find and it shows me in a time when I was just so damn optimistic.

NEVER AGAIN!

I honestly think being a fan is the problem. I have wanted bad players to turn it around because I love this team and want them to change our narrative of losing so much.

My list is too long, starting with Pooh, Laettner, Rider, Everyone around KG, Everyone Around Love, Beasley (skittles still has a special place in my heart), Ricky, Caged Lion, Bazz,Wiggins, I'm sure Edwards will be my next disappointment.

Being a fan in this joke of a franchise has clouded my judgement, or maybe being a fan of this joke of a franchise is a confirmation of my bad judgement.

He wasn't a Wolves draft pick but the first thing that comes to my mind is Dragan Bender. I was in on that guy and so far he has simply not been good. He just turned 23 so I guess there is still hope for him to be more than just a failed top 5 pick.

That Suns draft they also traded up with the Kings and took Chriss at 8. Neither the Kings or the Suns made a single worthwhile pick out of 5 first round picks in that draft. I'm feeling better already.

Well, my flops are countless... :)

But I really thought Felipe Lopez was gonna be something for the Wolves!

I thought Derrick Williams was going to be a good player. I remember him knocking down 3's in the tourney like clockwork and boy, that did not work out at all. Among Wolves picks he was one of the few I liked.

I mentioned in the other thread I was excited about reviving Darko's career in Minnesota. I also held out hope for too long on AB.

I was on board for the Darko contract although I thought it was a little high. I didn't know at the time they basically gave him that money to convince him to play basketball...at all.

Not enough hours in a day for my recap so I'll just go with All Of Them!

I'll go with the Tanguy Ngombo insta-take. To be fair, that was when we thought he was 21 years old and not 26 (which would make him draft inelegible).
