Reason # 178 to fire Thibs: Derrick Rose
Just as I feared, Derrick Rose has become this year's version of Jamal Crawford. You will never guess who has the worst net rating on the team. You can look at the damage below the break. Remember, this is a guy that has bounced around from team to team and played terrible basketball for the better part of three years now. Yet Thibs has the gall to start him and use him as a lead guard. Incredible. The results have been predictable.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Net Ratings thru 5 pre-season games:
Rose -25.1
Teague -21.3
KAT -17.5
Tolliver -15.9
Williams -15.6
Gibson -14.5
Dieng -14.2
Wiggins -14
KBD -12.8
Jones -11.8
Okogie -4.3

Well Q, are you surprised. :). Honestly, does anything still think Thibodeau is a good head coach? Or put differently, is there anyone who still thinks he's not a terrible head coach? Lol.

I think it was Camden's daily endorsement of him.

The evidence keeps mounting that one person being both coach and PBO is not a recipe for success. The perspective and relationships the coach develops with players gets in the way of the PBO making decisions that are best for the team. And there is no one of authority to make demands and hold the coach accountable.
I wonder if Glen is reluctant to make changes since he really wants to sell, and he thinks it would be better for the new owners to make the changes needed?
I know there are many here who dislike KG, but an ownership group with ties to KG would likely fire up the enthusiasm and energy surrounding this team.
Jon K seems to have an "in" with KG. Maybe he can light the fire...

I think Thibodeau's reluctance relates to the $24 million he and his minority partners would have to eat as well as the fact that he doesn't have anyone who can step in right away as PBO to executive a Butler trade. I suspect Thibodeau will be let go as soon as the Butler situation is resolved. If Butler stays, Thibodeau will stay for the season. If Butler's traded, I see Thibodeau being let go soon.

With the shit show going on right now, even I would be in favor of a KG influenced ownership group.

I do have some insight into potential local buyers. There are some key people, but KG isn't one of them - at least not yet. So far, a solid group of buyers hasn't come together. But if it does, it will include some familiar names along with names most have never heard of. It will definitely be a group and not just one or two people. I was told last night by someone who knows this stuff, that nothing is remotely close and that Taylor will not be selling the team anytime soon because he wants to make sure he sells to a local group committed to keeping the team in MN.

A local group? Oh man this reminds me of Bobby Marks on Woj's podcast last week talking about a couple of the ownership groups he worked with in his time working in the NBA. Some good stories. Lol
