What's next?
Do we think moving Butler means we trade aging vets like Taj, or does it mean those guys become more integral as means to hold team together? I could be sold either direction.
I ask because a guy like Taj would have appeal to many a playoff team. He is a vet that would be willing to fill any role asked of him, and he could slide in and be a very productive role player day one of arrival. This is actually what I loved about him when he signed here. Also, his salary expires after this season, which is key for many of these teams.
I'm curious where this team goes from here. Are we done dealing?

The interest in Taj would be very minimal by a playoff team, and at most we'd get would be a late 2nd round pick.
In 1995 maybe he'd have a little more value.

You are absolutely wrong. Taj is the exact kind of guy playoff teams look for. Productive player....check. Team fit.....check. Expiring contract....check. He would absolutely be in demand if we make him available. Would we get a first, probably not. But we would have many teams interested. The difficult part is always making contracts work. Not easy to find a $14MM contract to exchange.
Re: What's next?
FWIW Jon K just said on Reddit he thinks they will let the dust settle with the roster and no other moves are likely to happen for a while. That makes sense to me. Most teams aren't really looking to make moves at this point of the season unless they have a real need.

Re: What's next?
Well if we can get any positive asset back for Taj we should definitely to it!!
I know for some there is newfound enthusiasm for this team but Taj impacts winning very little, especially for us, being likely not a playoff team, if he's worth and as coveted as you say we should be looking to move him ASAP!!

But asset managemt isn't an area of strength for our management. We've successfully turned the #5, #13,and #8 pick into Cov and Saric, Saric being a late first, and Cov was unDrafted.

And what's next with the barking ogre? Does this trade buy him more time?

Re: What's next?
I think Jon K is absolutely right. I don't expect any move, with player personnel or Thibs, for at least the next month or so. If we continue to play poorly and are clearly out of the playoff hunt, we will probably start looking to move players like Taj or may be even Rose if he keeps this level of play up. But I don't see anything happening for now. Taylor is going to give Thibs a chance to save his job with the a fresh "start" this season.

Jon K said on a reply about Taj that yeah if the season goes badly then yeah maybe they move him. I have doubts there is teams banging on the door to get him. I think he will have value as well as Tolliver. The thing is this team COULD actually be kinda good and be in their own playoff race. Like you said it's a somewhat fresh start and might as well go see what this team can do. Teague might be able to play soon and...it's the Wolves so...maybe I shouldn't say this but it really does look like a team with some real depth. That helps.

Re: What's next?
We got 2/5 starters from a playoff team in this trade. This was not a blow it all up move. I would fully expect this team to try to compete for a playoff spot now and wait until the deadline to make any other moves. Whether they can make the playoffs is another argument, but they are going to try.
