Kemba Walker is available, reasonable trade ideas?

Post by Duke13 »

I would definitely include Wiggins a in deal for him. I think Wiggins would be intriguing to them. I'd love to do the deal without including the pick. Maybe we could find a taker for Teague. We could take on Batum also. I'd say it's likely we'd have to include the pick, but that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me, or get MKG instead of Batum. If inn tibs indefinitely explore this.

The Hornets would accept a Kemba for wiggins deal in a second. Why give up an asset like wiggins for a slight upgrade at the most stacked position in the NBA in point guard

Not worth explaining I don't think. I don't necessarily consider Wig an "asset" at the rate he's being compensated. But obviously many people differ on that.

The idea that they should trade Walker has been mentioned by a few people in the NBA world. I just don't see a fit to get him here. Plus that's another guy that needs the ball a lot. Could it work? I would t be against finding out. It's worth remembering that because he signed his extension Wiggins is difficult to trade during this season and...I doubt he is a guy they are looking to trade now anyway.

They want to dump a bad contract WITH Kemba. I don't think the Wolves can do it. Can't afford to take on a Batum bad contract unless we dumped one of ours owns like Dieng.

I like the thought, but that's not the guy I'd make a move for despite thoroughly enjoying his game.

For the sake of playing with the idea, I made a three-team trade.

CHA: A. Wiggins

MIN: K. Walker, K. Bazemore, J. Lamb

ATL: G. Dieng, C. Aldrich, OKC's 2018 1st-round pick (top-14 protected)

The follow-up to this incredibly unlikely trade would be to trade Jeff Teague for a serviceable bench big and perhaps a protected first-rounder.

The more I think about it, if we had legitimate interest in Kyrie Irving, I could see there being some real interest in Kemba Walker. I don't really love that idea because Jeff Teague and Tyus Jones have done plenty at the point guard position for me to feel good about them, but Walker is a pretty dynamic player himself so I wouldn't necessarily hate it either.

I do think I'd look elsewhere, though.

Makes no sense to deal for Kemba unless we can find someone to take Teague. Unfortunately, I don't see any teams that would have an interest in Teague with the 2 remaining years at $19 million per year left on his contract. We'd have far too much money tied up on one position.

Tell me who wouldn't do a deal centered around Wig for Kemba now! I mean besides Charlotte!
