Makes me realize just how far away the Wolves are from competing for the 2nd round... year after year.
And it reminds me how pathetic it is that in a league where 16 of 30 teams make the playoffs... the Wolves have made it 8 times in 29 years... none in the past 13... and past the 1st round...
once.
I don't like the NBA playoffs.

quit being a damn Debbie downer lol, Picture these playoffs as a home shopping channel and just check out all the "deals" on the upcoming free agents still playing! This is probably the most first round games I"ve ever watched in a season because of our cap room I should probably do something social soon. I don't think we're THAT far away from the Jazz/Clips

Both teams won 51 games with injury-riddled rosters.
3 of the Wolves starters were healthy for every game. Another starter only missed a handful of games. The Wolves won 31 games. Let's reach the Pacers level first. Heck... let's reach the Pistons level... or even the Pelicans level first...
To be fair, I'm looking forward to Luc Mbao a Moute in a Wolves uniform. I think he could make a legit difference with Ws and Ls...

I doubt we could get Luc, you'd likely have to give up a 2nd overall pick to get him

Luc is not exercising his 2.3 mil player option for next year when he can get many times more than that this offseason. And as Abe suggested, probably from the Wolves...

I'm just making a joke about the time we traded #2 pick Derrick Williams for Luc

Good stuff. :)
Luc is the type of guy we should sign. Either sign Luc for a decent chunk of money or sign the next Luc a vet player nobody seems to value anymore even though they were fairly effective players for years but has some flaws. Sefelosha comes to mind.
Re: I don't like the NBA playoffs.
What I like about the playoffs is how it sifts the alphas from the omegas among the top players. The Bulls game tonight was a good example. Guess who put his team on his back, 26 points, 11 boards and 8 assists? What it Jimmy Butler in his prime? No. It was a middle aged Dwayne Wade.
We've seen those alphas with other teams throuout the playoffs so far this year: K. Leonard with the Spurs, Mike Conley with the Grizzlies, I. Thomas with the Celtics, Chris Paul with the Clippers, James Harden with the Rockets, R. Westbrook with the Thunder and Joe Johnson with the Jazz. Of course, the Warriors have two alphas in Curry and Green. All these guys impose their will when their teams need them. It doesn't always result in a win, but having one or two alphas among you most talented players is essential for any chance to win playoff basketball or even get to the playoffs in the NBA.
There are top players who assert their talent. Then there are truly great players, the alphas, who impose their will. The fate of the Wolves will turn to a great extent on whether KAT, Wiggins or pehaps Zach can become that alpha dog who imposes his will and carriers his team when they really need him. So far, I see Wiggins as a guy who asserts his talent from time to time and really help the team when he does. But I don't see a guy who imposes his will. I see more potential in KAT to be that guy, but that remains to be seen.
