Missing Ricky

Yeah, I miss him too Bleed, and am also pulling for him in Utah (as long as we're not competing with them for a playoff spot). I don't think the Rubio and Teague deals fall into the disaster category, but still wouldn't have done it. My prediction is this: Ricky will have a much better individual season than Teague, but the success of the Wolves due to the addition of Butler and maturation of KAT and Wig will reduce it to a side stroy. Doesn't mean some of us Ricky fans won't be tracking the relative performance of Teague and him though!

He would have been reduced to a side story had he not been traded. As for him having a better individual season it makes sense as Teague will be at best the 4th option while Rubio will be what, 2nd on Utah?

But yeah, his style and enthusiasm was contagious as a fan, he's an easy guy to like and cheer for, and I will continue to do so!

By the way, we're missing another Ricky, TeamRicky! Wonder what Jazz forum he now calls home.

The Jazz are really going to miss Gordon Haywood. Defensively they will be one of the best teams in the league, but offensively they will be one of the worse. Who on that roster is capable of averaging 20ppg?

Rudy Gobert has improved his scoring average every season so far. Last year he already averaged almost 15 pts per 36 minutes. It will be interesting to see if he can take another step offensively. At least Gobert receiving alley oop lobs from Ricky will be funny to watch. Favors used to average around 16 per game, but since in current NBA, it's difficult to play him together with Gobert, he probably won't bounce back.

Personally I believe that Rodney Hood will be the player that will lead Jazz in scoring. He has had some success in last couple of years even as a pick and roll ball handler and one year ago he already averaged 3 assists per 36 minutes. With Hayward gone, he will get more minutes and has ball more often in his hands. It will be interesting to see whether he can survive as team's first scoring option and secondary ball handler.

Agreed on Hood being their best scorer. Rubio will probably help Gobert score more. Hill isn't the passer Rubio is but Hill was also a bigger threat to hit the 3. If Alec Burks can actually stay healthy he could give them a nice boost off the bench. Joe Johnson will be in their 2nd unit and that will help. I could see Favors bouncing back to some extent IF.... he is actually healthy. That's a theme about this team is health. It's a pretty deep team though and they have a couple young guys that could surprise and perform better. They won't be an easy out.
