Wolves get pounded by the Pelicans GDT
Wolves get pounded by the Pelicans GDT
I figure all the positive GDT titles have been a miserable failure so let's start this one early, and with a more realistic title!
Go Wolves, or something.

Yeah, hard to see this not happening.
B2b and the starters are gassed.

I know I drive Abe nuts whining about Thibs' minutes (maybe a little intentional at times ;-) ), but you guys may be surprised to hear I have a different take on minutes and BTBs. I have both observed and charted this, and here is my conclusion. While starters' minutes and limited rest have a huge impact on end of game performance, there is little impact on the second half of BTBs. Whether a guy plays 40 or 30 minutes the previous night doesn't seem to impact their performance on the second night. For that reason, I'm oddly optimistic about this game. The Wolves played hard last night, and it's too bad that their coach cost them a winnable game. I'm sure they have a sour taste in their mouths after last night' loss that they are eager to get rid of. They likely get Teague and Belly back tonight which should help a lot. The Pelicans are playing well and are certainly a force in the paint, but I think the Wolves have a good chance to bounce back and steal this one.

KAT's recent struggles against large, physical and talented big men will be put to the test.
Remember, last time MN was in NO... KAT managed all of 2 points. (a win though!)

I'm going to hedge (or even reverse) my brash win prediction above. NBA sleep consultant (yes, there is one) Cheri Mah has become a favorite of sophisticated NBA gamblers for her ability to identify "Mah Games"...games in which the specifics of the schedule are so unfavorable to one team that they have little chance of covering the spread. There are several factors that go into identifying a Mah Game, such as BTBs, 4 games in 5 nights, rested opponent, etc. I don't have the exact figures, but I believe she was undefeated in 8 October Mah Games (including the Wolves' horrible loss in Detroit).
Now, the only factor that might offset this trend is if two key rotation players (Teague and Belly) both play tonight after resting last night. Absent that, this may be a long night for our Wolves.

There was one note on Basketball reference that Teague may not even be ready for Friday's game. I think we're in for some challenges until he gets back.

On Team website Belly and Teague are listed as questionable. I would bet they're not playing again and this is going to be another ugly game. The Thibs pitchforks should be out in full force as Tyus gets another 40 mins in back to back nights.

Seriously... I have to imagine a few savvy high rollers have cleaned up in those NBA "scheduled losses" over the years.

Boogie and AD gonna really force KAT into other 40 minute game and probably foul trouble. Free Cole Aldrich!

Don't understand why Cole hasn't been used so far this season especially with Belly out. He's serviceable. Justin Patton mustn't be far off returning to the court either. Might as well develop him instead of playing Taj and KAT 40 mpg.
