Thanks doper. I like Lowe too. So our starters have played 150 minutes more than the next group? Ouch. But both seem optimistic that eventually we'll start playing better d. Your boy Bazz got ripped pretty good.

He will continue to get ripped for a while. Those two games as a starter are greatly influencing his plus minus related numbers still. Granted he has been pretty bad in a number of games, I'm confident he will come around.

Great interview. Thanks for posting. I love Jeff VanGundy. Interesting point he made about KAT's defense, referring to the fact that KAT's not very quick or light on his feet. That means KAT will have to depend heavily on his intelligence to become a good defender.

Of course, current or former NBA coaches never criticize fellow members of the coaching fraternity. And of course, Thibs and JVG are friends. So no surprise that JVG went out of his way to absolve Thibs of any blame for the Wolves poor defense. But I thought VanGundy had a lot of great insights

I agree with what JVG said about Towns physically. He looks more athletic at times because of his ridiculous skill level and he makes some things look easy. He is more smooth than explosive and quick but obviously he isn't some slow footed guys either. He has plenty of physical and athletic ability to be a really good defender it's just on a night to night basis he can't just rely on that. Nobody can actually do that but yeah it was a good point.

For JVG this was about as tame as you will get out of him. There were plenty of little things to get out of this and from Lowe who said he was surprised at how well the Wolves share the ball!

I actually agree with them about the offense. It isn't crisp yet but it has been diverse. Which is why I didn't really agree with the point that some were making that the offense has been stagnant. I think even more offensive improvements are coming and we're already top 10.
