Good list - thanks for posting. I'm assuming Martin will be bought out and KG retires. So I believe that leaves us with 10 guys under contract for next year. That leaves at least five open spots for next year. Assume two spots for draft picks and/or Euro guy. That means we can add three quality Free Agents. Pick the three best and let's roll.

Ryan Anderson would help an awful lot.

So Conley doesn't even make the list?

A front court of Whiteside and Towns would be awesome if Whiteside could be trusted.

That being said I don't see us being big players in free agency and I don't see the need for us to be.

I think someone is gonna pay Whiteside a ton of money and ultimately regret it. He can play but there has been a lot written about how he doesn't play winning basketball.

I don't think he's even a remote possibility. Memphis has every reason to keep him and if for some reason he leaves Memphis it will be to go to a team that is a stronger contender than us. He's going to get max money and it also wouldn't make much sense for us with greater needs elsewhere while we have Ricky.

I totally agree with you, but if this were a video game and the intangibles didn't matter, that would be a heck of a front court.

I find these comments funny. We are one of the bottom 5 teams in the league. Whiteside is a key contributor to a top 4 team in his conference. I don't know....seems he is playing some "winning basketball". Perfect ball player? Nope. If he was, we would have a zero % chance to get him. Could we get him anyways? Probably not. I just find it interesting that people attach many negative comments to Whiteside...yet results show a pretty impactful player.

I get what you are saying. We are talking about a player that is seeming likely to get a max contract. There have been a couple articles that point out the Heat actually play better defense when he is off the floor rebound better etc. Basically they suggest Whiteside hunts for blocks and rebounds. Nobody is suggesting he sucks and even if he is a selfish player or whatever stuff these articles say he is still a pretty good player because he can do a lot of things very few guys in the league can do. There are questions about his real impact beyond the stunning numbers. When a guy is likely getting the max you start being more a little more picky. The Wolves aren't getting him regardless so I'm not losing sleep over it either way just offering an opinion.
