Right now we have the 5th worst record with 19 wins. Here's the race for the bottom standings:
8 wins - 76ers
12 wins - Lakers
15 wins - Suns
17 wins - Nets
19 wins - Wolves
23 wins - Pelicans
I think we win five more games this year and stop at 24 wins. The Pelicans aren't going to lose the rest of their games, so we'll stay in the top 5 with regard to lotto balls that way. Out tanking the Nets also remains a possibility...just depends on which team applies itself more down the stretch :-).

Time to shut down Rubio. I think we know LaVine is not the answer at PG. I think we need to use the reset off the season to see if Shabazz can be a PG.

Yes, out tanking Nets is real possibility since there is no reason for Nets to tank since they don't have their 1st round pick.

LOL! Good one. Yeah, it will be interesting. I'm torn between wanting to see the core guys finish strong and maintaining our chances at another top 5 pick. But this is the Timberwolves....so maybe we can get both. I think what we've been seeing lately is better overall play, but we just don't have enough good horses. Pek, KG, Belly might be done for the year. We have an open roster spot and a newly signed D-League guy. And then you add in Payne, Rudez......we're talking about half our roster being either hurt or ineffective! Based on that - I don't think we'll have too much trouble finishing in the bottom five. Next year - we have to construct a deeper/more productive roster.

Ah - didn't realize that. Good to know!

The Nets don't have their first rounder so they are the only team you mentioned that should be trying to win as many games as possible. We play them very soon, so maybe that will be a good game to try Bazz or even Payne at the point or trot Pek out to work on his three point shooting.

Yuck. This happens every damn year and I'm tired of it. I hope they finish strong, but it wouldn't surprise me if we if we stumble and bumble our way to the finish line. It's a Wolves tradition at this point.

In all honesty I would love to see Rubio be aggressive looking for points the rest of the way. I think it might be the best thing for him and the team moving forward.

Too much focus is on Rubio's offense/shooting. Rubio just needs to keep being Rubio. Our offense has been fine for over a month now. We are consistently scoring 100+ points per night.
Defense continues to be the #1, #2, and #3 problem. 3-point shooting is the #4 problem, but that actually hasn't hampered us much lately.

The Suns might pick up a few more wins when Knight comes back in the next week or two so we may be able to get to 3 if we do it right.
